As of this writing, there is some sort of server failure or bug that prevents core features of this game, e.g. sharing your writing and reading what others have written, from functioning. Although the game falling into disrepair over the years coincides perfectly with the mood and imagery of the work, I have to conclude that this is unintentional. Get this game if you want a brief, pretty walking simulator. If you want a platform for creative writing, look elsewhere.

This game is like a waking dream. Everything feels familiar. Everything is strange. You have a vague feeling that you need to escape, but you don't know where you are or how to get out.

An excellent example of game design with a minimalist aesthetic. This game reminded me of my dreams more than any dream sequence in any game I've ever played.

A word of warning: I encountered a game-breaking bug in the last 60 seconds of the game that prevented me from completing it until I looked up the work-around online. The solution was throttling my graphics settings way down.

Cool idea, bleak tone, finicky puzzles

Another pleasant moonlit stroll spoiled by being murdered to death.

This game is okay. Not as funny as the trailer makes it sound. Interesting layering of mechanics, sweet visual appeal, occasionally frustrating interface, forgettable story.

Interesting game. Taught me more about WWI than I've learned since high school. Nice art and sound design - sort of similar to Scribblenauts. Requires Uplay to run. Three days after I installed Uplay, it started rejecting my password. I went to their website and reset my password - no effect. Ubisoft is the worst; pirate this game.

Amazing soundtrack and visuals, good writing, exhilirating gameplay, tight controls, steep challenge with a low penalty for failure, interesting commentary on violence in games.

Delivers none of the feelings I would hope for with a tagline of "you are the dragon:" power, freedom, majesty.

Immersive. Atmospheric. Short. Stimulating, but not challenging. Well-written with good voice acting. Gone Home may challenge your preconceptions about video games by telling a kind of story that you've never seen in interactive form before. If that sounds intriguing to you, get it. If it sounds awfully pretentious, you will probably not enjoy Gone Home.

Difficult platforming that didn't feel fun. Unique visual aesthetic. So-so soundtrack.
