When people said they were begging for HL3, I assumed that HL2 ended like portal 2 (with the bad guy taken care of and the protagonist waiting for a new adventure) . However, this definitely was not the case. Alyx's dad was licked to death by a telekinetic potato and it just ended.

Despite the enormous cliffhanger that may never be resolved, i still recommend this game and all the others in the Half Life series. It is an amazing series that deserves an ending. A must have for any fps lover.
