Lots to do in this exploration and management game. If you aren't good at logistics (I'm not), you will be eaten by the space whale.

A small, amusing game. This is how you do first-person platforming! :D

Early Access Review
Not well optimized on Mac OS X. Even on the lowest settings there was considerable camera stutter and audio stutter.

I was excited to try it on the free weekend, but found found the game unplayable. A shame, because it really sounds cool.

Addendum: I got it as part of the March 2016 Humble Monthly bundle, it is still in an unplayable state on OS X.

Good idea for a zombie survival game, but hampered in it's execution by a lack of basic game features such as no controller support and no fullscreen support.

Ultionus should be a hit with me. I like the aesthetic, the music and the premise of the game. But I don't like playing it as I feel the game suffers from a severe case of artificial difficulty. I find the controls challenging in their adherence to early-90s play style (our heroine cannot walk and shoot at the same time), but that isn't where my issue lies. Rather, I think the game's "stage" is too small. I think that there simply isn't enough space between the player at the center of the screen and the edges of the screen to create a balanced gameplay experience. Either of these issues could exist in an otherwise fine game, but together they conspire to make for an artificially difficult experience.

As I said at the beginning, I like the look and sound of the game. If you can deal with early-90s controls and a very up-close camera viewport, then get this game. Otherwise, the game may prove too frustrating for you.

Be advised that The Bureau: XCOM Declassified[/b] is a Transgaming Cider port. This means that features like controller support and the like are not available on the Mac version (they went so far as to remove it from the UI even).

Because of this, I wasn't able to get very far in the game, the combination of FPS and tactical uses an odd keyboard arrangement when a controller would have been prefered.

A great tribute to Nintendo's Metroid series. Just about everything in the game is perfect, the controls are responsive and the game engine is well optimized on the Mac (my fans don't kick on during this game).

The only thing I don't like about the gameplay is that the grappling claw doesn't maintain swing velocity, this makes swinging counter-intuative and difficult.

The Mac version has NO controller support whatsoever. The game has the settings UI for controllers from the Windows version, but no actual support for controllers was implemented here. I am unsure if this is a failing of the game or Transgaming's Cider.

Regardless, I can't recomend a game with such a blatent broken promise.
