Previous review was more emotionally charged then this one but I do still stand by it, expect frustration when playing on Hard mode when you're a fast player. Every action has a delay to it ranging from 80ms to 150ms in combat. So take that in mind.

The Story
I liked the story very much eventhough the writing wasn't the best. Some character actions are a bit un-natural and feel off but other then that on Easy and Normal it's a great game. Similar to Control.

The Graphics
Decent. It's a old game. It doesn't run the smoothest on modern hardware but it does run smooth. Only real downside is the forced 30fps cutscenes.

Technicalities
Like I said, it has a delay in every action you take. From hiding to firing position? A delay and forced animation time in which you can't do anything but wait for it. That makes some movement abilities nearly pointless as you can't reliably use those as a reflex.

The Conclusion
I shouldn't have started on Hard but then again, I would not play this game again to get the achievement so I'm glad I did it on Hard so I got all three achievements at once.

Other then that, buy it in sale.

Finally got to play it.

I really like how the weapons work in Back4Blood. At the time of writing I just finished the First Act.
You do get an information overload when you're starting, but if you already have experience in Card-like bonusses then you'll do fine. You can make a Deck of Cards which have certain perks like higher stamina, more powerfull melee and more like that. It was new for me but I quickly knew how to use it and what would work for me.

I played with some rando's and it went fine, until a guy joined and even after I told him that this is my first game, he just solo'd the whole Act while skipping all resources and generally rushes the game. Fine, if you want to play solo. But it kinda ruins the game when you just get the hang of the loadout systems which you can use at the start (like Counter Strike) and that guy is already pinging you to come to the saferoom else _he_ can't continue..

So after getting swarmed a couple of times and generally panicking trying to keep up, I suggest playing with bots first.
Had two of those guys in the first 5 times I played so, yeah. It already feels like newbies aren't welcome.

better git gud

One of the most intriguing games I've played. If you like exploring on your own pace, then this is the game for you.
I had loads of fun discovering the story of the game and history of their solar system.

Looking forward to play the expansion Echoes of the Eye. Characters are great and the philosophy behind the story is very interesting.

I higly recommend this game to my friends, even if it's just trying it out. I'll probably gift this game to some my friends who have this game in their wishlist.

10/10 a game I'd like to be more of!

If you like rythm games, this one has pretty challenging 7/5, 7/4 and 5/4 levels all mixed.

At first it starts easy, and the first 7 levels aren't that hard for musically inclined gamers.
But after those, I started with the "gold" levels (in main menu going to the top). Well, those a kinda hard and tricky to get the hang of it. You see, if you fail the music stops and you reset. So any progress not made, is completely unknow territory. Even in practise mode you can't go past what you already done (except maybe for 8 tiles in the progression direction).

All in all, I liked my first 5 hours of playing those hard levels. Then I discovered there where more normal levels :')
Anyway, I still have to try the level builder tho.
