Fun game. Has some serious optimizations issues, hopefully they are working on that. Running a 4070ti 28gb ram i7-13700k and having massive issues today. Game ran smooth on medium for the first 30 hours until I reached The Warehouse. Lagging so bad the game is unplayable - tried my save on 2 PC's now, restarted updated drivers, followed internet and youtube video performance tips - everything on lowest settings, even set my cpu power settings to high performance, no improvement whatsoever. A storm has started and I'm now getting about 5 seconds of in-game advancement every 2 mins or so. It's frozen up badly. Writing this review waiting for the weather to change and hoping for improvement once this stupid storm ends lol.

Enjoying this game despite the confusing controls and menus. Other automation games tend to have intuitive controls, mouse wheel to switch weapons for example. Feels like I have to fight my brain to operate most things in this.

Made a grappling hook, struggled to remember how I equipped it in my next session. Oh, I have to press "x", select left radial and then select the item. Or I could press ctrl+3, the obvious key to pull out the first traversal tool. Ctrl+3. Would be nice if i could just use my scroll wheel to switch between my weapons.

Feels strange to "equip" blueprints in what is typically item equipment slots in other games. The construction menu is a little counter-intuitive, need to build a laboratory or smelter, it's under "devices" with a cpu chip icon.

None of this is game breaking and I'm enjoying it so far, just a tougher time getting going with things that usually come easy in other games in the genre.

Great little autobattler, great price. Impressive variety of units, choice of rewards leads to branching strategies - do you take the raw materials to build a guild building to recruit a new unit type in the shop, or take straight up gold to recruit existing units waiting in the shop, or maybe spend that gold on a new item. Reroll the shops to try to get better item offerings. All the good strategy choices you want in this type of game.

Good items system, always upgrading and getting stronger while juggling upkeep costs of your expanding stable of gladiators. Not too punishing, so I'm able to bounce back from mistakes (made many lol). Lots of different enemy types as the story progresses, you need to look at what you're up against. Good synergies with certain classes.

Love auto chess games, and haven't played a single player version of one before. This one is totally worth the price of admission on the current steam sale, kudos to the devs. Nice little game you got goin here.

Only knock - this game does not work for steam deck. Don't get it to play on steam deck. I bought with the intention of playing on my couch with docked steam deck and ps5 controler. Controller support is bunk, you need a mouse to navigate the menu. I was basically using the middle pad of my ps5 like a mouse and everything took forever, super tedious. Steam deck players beware, it's a kb+m game through and through.

Off to a real bad start here. Ended up refunding. Weird legal agreements for a video game, but okay ill consent to battleye's whatever terms about collecting data about my pc.

Got a message that my drivers from April had known issues so I fired up geforce experience and updated to latest drivers (I had drivers from April 15th, latest was from May 15th). Reboot pc, relaunch game, still says my driver has known issues. Feels like a blanket CYA warning to wave away performance issues with their game - unusual but ok.

Log into game, opening cinematic classic dune. Pretty cool, seems immersive. Then you get more consent boxes - one of them asks for your data to see if their advertisements are working. I dunno what kinda advertisements they have or are planning to have...worrying sign tbh.

Get to server select. My friend paid the monthly sub to get a private server for everyone to play on back on June 5th. Looking on server list, i don't see it. Ask whats up w server? They say the private servers aren't really working right now. Great- can't even roll my char on my friends private server.

Roll a new char, cut open the entrance and drink the water and I'm just thinking ...this character doesn't matter. I wanna play with my friends on their server.

At the end of the day, if you want to charge an extra 20 bucks to get the online survival craft game access when all the other players do, fine. I hate the business practice but I was willing to play ball since I wishlisted this game forever ago, and I loved conan exiles (despite all the jank they never managed to fix in that game). But your game had better work at launch if you're gonna go with that business model. If I can't boot up the game and make a char i can play persistently with my friends at launch, paying extra is senseless.

Between the extra cost for early access, the warnings about a freshly updated driver having known issues, and the shenanigans with private hosted servers not working....it's a pass for me. Maybe i'll come revisit this game when it goes on sale for 30 bucks, but the initial offering has too many red flags for me.

I dig it. Great vamp survivors clone. Great price and a satisfying drip of unlocks. Plus 10 level missions now let me live the OP GOD fantasy we all crave in this genre.
