This was quite honestly the worst Call of Duty campaign I have ever played. It has exactly 3 memorable moments, zero connection to the previous games (save for about 2 lines of dialog) and some of the worst gun-play to date. Every mission feels so jarringly disjointed that you cannot really keep track of the plot, to the point where I had to stop and review what it was I was supposed to be doing.

The rhythm and pacing are also hopeless. I would fine one or two points in a level where the classic fire and manoeuvre style of gameplay from the MW series and BO1 and 2 would resuface, only to be immediately killed in favour of a cutscene or level transition. This combined with frequent graphical glitches (guns and knives not appearing, armour and helmets missing, and missing or broken textures) meant that this doesn't even get a pass technically.

The AI is atrocious. I often found myself firing at friendlies due to their atrocious positioning or facing the same was as enemy combatants, and the decision to make picking up enemy weapons a perk defies logic, and while it makes sense canonically that guns of the future would have bio-metric locking, from a gameplay standpoint, it was crap. While you can switch weapons at one of the generously placed mobile loadout crates, they felt so out of place and so much a 2007 style of gameplay that I elected to ignore them. Ammunition resupply crates are littered at every turn, which is good, since you'll dump half a magazine into a single enemy before they die, making constant resupply a must.

The strongest praise I can muster for the game is it would have been an OK Xbox 360 launch title as it's own IP, rather than trying to pretend it's a COD game. And even then, it would have been outshone story-wise by something like Army of Two.

I got this game at a 67% discount, which I'll admit was quite a bargain to find out that the Black Ops series is not one worth playing any longer. I can only assume that in development, the games designers had someone describe COD to them over the phone, because they certainly never played a COD game before making this. This was a huge misstep, and I honestly think the blew their budget on celeb voice actors and art film cutscenes rather than hiring designers to make the game itself fun. While writing this review, I've erased about 6 additional paragraphs going on about other diferent points i disliked, but in all honesty, if my point hasn't made it across by this point, 6 more paragraphs won't make a difference. Do. NOT. Buy. This. Game.

There is no mention of Zombies or Multiplayer, because the campaign left me so disenfranchised with the game that I have no desire to test them out even briefly for the purpose of this review, and shortly after posting it, I will be uninstalling Black Ops 3 and installing Black Ops 1 and 2 in an attempt to find a way to emulate the brainwashing in those games to remove the memories I have of this entire sordid affair.

Early Access Review
A great sequel to My Time at Portia, Sandrock is a wild west/desert themed adventure in the builder world. With more refined controls and a clearer inventory system, MTAS has been thoroughly enjoyable so far, and I cannot wait to see how the story develops as Early Access continues.

Some small gripes: if you miss a side mission for reasons outside your control, you do not get a chance to replay it. Also, the commissions could be broader and more varied. I have been asked many times for Nails, Hinges or Bloodstone Cores, but only once for a Curling Iron.

Ho boy, I was not expecting Yuppie Psycho to be this good. Playtime listed is inaccurate, its closer to 16 hours. Since there are multiple endings I'd imagine that this is a 30 hour game to 100%.

The story (once you get past the initial shock/weirdness of the setting) is great, just the right amount of dread and jumpscares. The characters are unique, though some are more fleshed out than others, and the saving system fits brilliantly. You will most likely need some help with guides as a few of the bosses aren't very self-explanitory.

Overall, I'd buy Yuppie Psycho 2 if it was out today.

Thoroughly enjoyable indie game. Point and click with pixel simplicity, puzzles weren't too challenging and the story was engaging, if a little hokey at the end. 5 hours to beat, 3 more hours to get the "best" ending, likely 3 more to 100% achievements.

If the dev makes another game like this (same style, different story) I'll happily pick it up.

Early Access Review
Some spoilers ahead, ye be warned.

This game is buggy, crashes, and has very little content. This is fine. It's Early Access. Full release is in October of 2019. If you didn't like playing during Subnautica's development, dont buy this until the full release. I appreciate the dev's attempt to change the formula a bit by starting us off in a completed base before dropping us off the face of the (earth?) planet, but it took away much of the sense of urgency. Hopefully this is restored as the game is updated and added to.

Things I liked:
New flora
Crafting recipie tweaks
A story that I didn't have to dig through PDAs to discover
NPCs (just voices for now, I stated before itd be cool to have an NPC hang around your base in the original game)
More land sections
New creatures
Alan

Things I didn't like:
The airdrops to supply equipment
The feeling that you aren't ever really in trouble, your sister/Alterra could always come get you
Smaller map (though this could be fixed by giving S:BZ more biomes stacked on top of one another)
Still no PDA map
The way that crafting the first few items felt like a guided and forced tutorial.
I cannot have a pet Pengwing (yet)
Temperature system not implemented yet
No cold weather diving gear on the protagonist. (you want it in sub-zero temps. Trust me, I'm Canadian)

Things other people didn't like that I have no problem with or that I liked:
Voiced protagonist
Female protagonist
Black protagonist (seriously? people took issue with this?)
The "Hoverbike"
The fact that this is Early Access and still quite buggy

Things I would like to see:
Somewhere better (flatter) to build a multi-tier base
Resource-biome reminders (you have found diamonds in the following biomes: 1, 2, 5)
Some way to bring back wrecks. Maybe the station gets severly damaged.
A story reward for scanning EVERYTHING
Meeting actual Precursors

All in all, I want to support the Devs. I bought the original Subnautica in March of 2015, while it was still VERY unfinished, and have seen a crazy buggy game turned into a fun and rewarding experience. My hope is that this game will follow that trend, but on a shorter timescale, and that the dev team continue to listen to their community to shape the game's development.

You could buy the remake for $80. Or you could buy this version for you and 7 friends and have a flipping awesome LAN party.

This game may very well be one of my all-time favorite under-the-radar gems. The characters were varied and diverse, the dialogue was stimulating, the setting was intriguing and has a massive backstory, and the whole idea of making a full game in 1 location is a fresh new feeling after all the open-world games released recently. There is enough Sci-Fi references to keep this game from becoming too self-aware, and while it may not be the most visually stunning, it more than makes up for it in almost every other way.

Some non-spoiler side notes:
Do not expect to guess the answer to the big mystery on your first playthrough.
The game occasionally has some graphical glitches. These can be fixed by saving and loading the game.

I bought this game, I will buy the sequel, and I will buy the sequel's sequel. I WANT to know how this story ends.

This game is free. I would have happily paid for it. 45 minutes of glorious HL2 flavored gameplay. I want more.

This game is great. There is still a small problem with communication between the devs and player-base, but the situation is improving. If you enjoy 4-player co-op games, don't mind a lot of semi-optional DLC and the (more than) occasional crash, I would say give this game a try.
