I have a habit of picking up games everybody played a decade+ ago, and this was one of them. I am really glad I did this AFTER Dead Island 1 because this blows it out of the water. I love zombie anything, exploring, and grinding XP so this is pretty much a w/ right away, but the parkour is also cool. I wasn't really interested in that aspect of the game, but now that I've played a bit I really like it. Anyway I'm playing this solo, and if anyone is having it a little rough the first part of the game because you're playing alone, there is this thing called Hellraid you can play to get lots and lots of combat XP to make yourself a bit beefier that you can do shortly after the intro. I think I got everything , all the DLC for 10 bucks so that's a perk for getting into games way after they were popular.

I want to recommend it, but also tell the developers to go to hell at the same time.

I'm not buying the remaster because you bricked my original. It just means I boycott Square Enix which I did a while back anyway.

It's a great game, but before you get into it you ought to know about this strange user named Californ1a, who basically thinks he's the god of Distance. He's in every forum thread. If you ever decide to stream the game he'll be all up in your stream. It's like "his game" or some ♥♥♥♥, because he made it his life to badger people and call it "helping the community". I banned this weirdo from my chat years ago for arguing with me about what I said about the game. I said something about how it's not really a good TRADITIONAL racing game and I had reasons for that, but before I could explain them he's freaking out and arguing with me about what I meant. Years later I am still playing this game and I see this nutjob has to be in every distance thread. Every Distance anything, he's there, giving his piece of mind to strangers. You'd think he ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made the game or something. Whenever I banned this guy he immediately gets on an alt account and starts arguing with me about how I shouldn't ban this guy and that he's so amazing for the community, and then another time someone is like CALIFORN1A WANTS TO BE UNBANNED. I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate people like this. Honestly, so I thought I"d vent by writing a little piece about him in my review of the game, since he thinks he comes with the mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, he's in the review too.
