This game is fun and you don't have to play the first game to enjoy the 2nd. I really enjoy the sandbox nature of the game and it's an improvement in every way. I do wish that certain things where as technical as Escape From Tarkov. Overall it's a solid game.

This game gets a lot of things right as far as gameplay. I love the amount of lore there is, but I think the story flow is a bit off putting. You kinda just thrown in the game and you really don't know why your the main character is there in the first place. The main ending wasn't as grand as I would of liked but overall the game is good.

This is the most consistent game developer I've seen they have multiple updates a month.

As always with a new release the game will be a little un-optimized feeling with different setups of hardware. After a driver updates that removed the tree pop-in; and after playing with the settings and resolution scaling I'm getting anywhere between 30 to 60 fps on a 1050 TI. I still want to get some better hardware though as this game makes me feel like I'm well due for a upgrade.

I haven't seen any game play bugs as of yet, just animation bugs during cut scenes but nothing too jarring. As far as the game itself it feels like the game is taking you to a different living breathing world. All the mechanics feel great and like they belong. I'm happy that there are plenty of skills for me to put points into, I honestly think I spent 6 hours just playing the prelude section of the game.

The Bad:
As of now I can't fully recommend this game, the reason being is that the game play badly needs an update or refresh. The game plays just like the first 2 games, all we get here is a updated UI and a nice coat of paint. But as a modder of the first 2 games I can already tell that the game uses the same scripts, dialogue paths, economy system, over world map scripts, campaign AI, etc. I really thought that in 8 years TW would really revolutionize most of the scripting with the game; but honestly I should of known much of the coding wouldn't be TWs focus.

The Good:
The graphics are a big step up aside for a few weird looking things like the eye animations get a little funny. The UI is probably the best improvement over the original game, much of the information that was hidden behind the scenes is now available it the end user, like the trading information. I really like the new black smithing system, I like how information is now shown in various tool tips. From what I'm seeing this should be a bit easier to mod now and that is why I am giving my recommendation. I still think that TW needs to make the campaign system a 4X like game; going into cities and towns as your avatar is overrated. Overall as a long time player and modder I am quite disappointed that not much was changed on the single player side of the game; but the new UI and graphic improvements are very much welcome.

Update:
After some research it looks like the code for the scripts and triggers isn't exposed anymore; the kind of mods that are allowed at this moment are small changes and I guess would be tweaks. I know that some of the same exact code from Warband & M&B is there I just can't find it.

This game is great so far, I can't wait for the rest of the Halo Collection to come out. Especially since I remember Halo 3 having horrible pop-in on console.
