Play the demo first. If you play the demo for more than a couple hours (or in my case, 90 hours), then just buy the full game. You will NOT regret it (unless you value your sleep more than expanding your factory).

Early Access Review
UPDATE 2:
The For Science update that just came out basically made the game how it should have been at launch. The game runs solidly, not dropping below 90fps for me on medium settings with my 3060ti and R5 5600x. The missions actually give me a reason to play the game as otherwise I just flop around like a fish with no clue what to do, so being told "hey go to the moon for science points" makes me happy. Number of points being awarded and the cost for research should probably be balanced a bit more though, they should probably just copy KSP 1's system. Have not noticed any bugs other than one small graphical one.

UPDATE 1:
They released the first patch of the game and I can say now that the game is at the very least playable. Solid 30fps at all times, only seems to drop for me if I try to time warp while the engines are running but that's expected. You can now actually see the trajectory around a moon/planet, though you can't place maneuver nodes directly on it (you can place them elsewhere though then slide it over). Asparagus staging still does not work for whatever reason. You can't reliably use the symmetry in build mode, and one issue that is small but annoying is any time you right click or middle click and drag to pan/move, if you let go of said button while hovering over your ship in build mode, in flight, or on a planet/moon while in the map, it'll treat it like a regular right click / middle click and bring up different menus or change your camera's focus. I think this might just be the game checking for onMouseUp without checking if the mouse is currently being dragged. I hope they fix that in the next patch.

FIRST REVIEW:
Pros: good graphics, better UI, many new quality of life additions, sound design is peak, planets look beautiful, and the load times are INSANE for me in terms of speed. KSP 1 never loaded this fast for me.

Cons: I really really want to recommend this game but I just can't. I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060ti, well between the minimum and recommended specs, however no matter what settings I have, the game runs the same. High 1080p? 25 FPS. Low 1080p? 25 FPS. The second you launch your ship, it'll tank to 10 FPS. On top of that there are massive oversights in the gameplay, for example, the symmetry mode does not work properly, alt clicking on a strut will start building the strut from there rather than just copying the part like KSP 1, you cannot separate stages by individual parts like KSP 1 (like if you want to do asparagus staging) you instead have to place them all individually, if you want to rotate a tank that is radially attatched, it'll rotate around the attachment point rather than the center of the tank like KSP 1. Editing the staging is all around harder, every time you place a part it'll open up the part manager menu even when you close it, there are inconsistencies in the menus themselves, the ship saving and loading system is sluggish and frustrating to use, some buttons are not labeled, many parts don't even have a name, just "[TBD]". The maneuver node that I placed when trying to get into orbit would automatically extend itself as I was performing the maneuver, therefore making the maneuver longer, therefore completely invalidating the entire point of the maneuver node itself and the timer showing you when to burn. I found that my asparagus staging didn't work properly, as in KSP 1 when you drop a stage the other tanks will be shown as full since it calculates the fuel being transferred over, however in KSP 2 after dropping the first stage, the second stage only lasted a couple seconds before immediately running out of fuel and needing to be dropped. When you place down a rocket it by default points north, meaning I went the wrong way my first launch as you're supposed to go east. It would be nice if there was some kind of indication within the VAB that shows which way is north.
It's like having a pregnancy and saying it's due for delivery at 6 months...

TLDR: Wait at least a couple months for them to iron everything out. I firmly believe the game WILL be good eventually! But as of right now...

An addictive, randomly generated shooter with an amazing artstyle and crazy amounts of polish, especially for a game still in early access. I think this game has huge amounts of potential. More enemies, more guns, more levels, game modifiers, this game will go far. I think modding would also be insanely fun if possible, but I doubt people would be able to make custom content that perfectly matches the game's awesome artstyle. All around an amazing game!

This is the kind of game you do to wind down and relax after working for awhile. The update system is kinda doodoo but the game itself is very fun and relaxing

Seriously good. This game makes reloading actually fun (my favorite is the revolver) while the music rocks out in the background. I often find myself doing patterns to match the music like "shoot shoot reload, shot shoot reload" even if my gun has a capacity of 8 bullets. Yes, the number of items, enemies, bosses and songs are pretty small, but it only just launched and for only $20. Future updates and potential mods will overhaul this game into Valhalla. I also like the aesthetics and look of the game. Others say it hurts their eyes but man I think it's beautiful. I was worried I would lose interest after finishing it the first time, but then it unlocked the other 4 characters, and man I feel like I'll be playing this for a little while longer. tl;dr: Get this game when you can!

The game itself is an amazing game and incredibly fun, but the final chapter is the best piece of storytelling I've ever seen in my entire life. The ending alone is a reason to purchase this game. I highly recommend this game to anyone who has played the other Half-Life games, and I am extremely excited for the future of the Half-Life franchise.

I've gotten to play much more of the game, here are my thoughts so far:
The game is extremely hard to play on anything that isn't an Index. In the game, you have to hold items by constantly holding down the grip. While on Index that works fine because of the finger tracking, on basically any other VR headset (mine is specifically WMR), it's painful having to squeeze down the grip button constantly. This results in items constantly being dropped at bad times.
Another issue with this may be with ladders. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this with ladders, but when you get to the top, it is impossible to pull yourself up. your arms are much shorter than the rest of your body so you can't get up all the way. They added 2 vertical rods you can grab onto and climb up, but thats impossible too cause in order to climb, you need to let go with one hand and move it up higher. But in this game, if you let go with one hand, the other hand will slide all the way down to the bottom as if it has no grip. There were multiple parts of the game I got stuck cause I couldn't climb the ladders. Physics are quite janky and have a lot of room for improvement. Can't count the number of times my arms phased through a fence or door or cabinet and took awhile to get out. Last thing I'd point out is the inventory system is hard to use. The rear pocket is impossible to put stuff in, 100% if seated. Grabbing ammo is also impossible seated, and you have to have your hand in a very small area to put away ammo, while you can have it in a huge area to grab some. The side gun holsters are very hard to grab from, you have to throw your elbows as far back as you can. The shoulder pockets work great, with little to no issues.

I'm giving it a positive review cause it's still fun in the mean time, and the devs have plenty of time to fix things and add new things. If they were to remove the sliding down ladders, add an option to just press the grip rather than hold it down, improve physics over time, and improve the inventory, the game would be 10x better. It would also be helpful if they added the ability to save, as each chapter has been about 1 hour each for me, and you basically have to play it to the end in order to keep your progress.

OLD REVIEW:
How do you say "this game works on WMR" when you never even tested the game on WMR, and it doesn't work at all at launch? That's like releasing a game on PC, XB and PS, and then the XB version doesn't work at all cause "we didn't have an XB on hand so we assumed it would work". I don't doubt it's probably a good game, but the fact the developers lied by saying it would work when it doesn't is really a bummer. It's a no until they fix it. If you're a game developer, please actually make sure your game works on the platforms you say they do, instead of assuming it'll work out.

Very fun playing to the beat. High replay-ability, amazing modding community. DLC is pretty pricey

Amazing! Beautiful graphics, great story, amazing music, it's all so great! I was about to buy it when I found I got it via Humble Bundle, but honestly if I had payed for it before seeing that, I would've still been happy and gifted it to a friend. It's that good!
