It is equally perplexing and frustrating that there is no Coop or split-screen for the generation of people who grew up playing the game Coop and split-screen. Thumbs down, simple as that.

Pre-ordered this game. This game started rocky but has improved. Not to dog SEGA, but it really started getting better after they left the picture (2024). Happy to give it thumbs up.

Campaign:
- Linear African campaign is classic RTS fun. The narrative parts provide an interesting "human" touch to a lesser-known WWII campaign.

Strategic "Total War-esque" strategy takes getting used to but is more replayable. It takes me back to the Dawn of War Dark Crusade Strategic maps.

Multiplayer:
- PvE (Bots) The bot AI gets updated and is pretty challenging at max difficulty. It is a strength, and it gives a nice break from PvP.

-PvP can still be very fun. Your mileage may vary when it comes to teammates. There always seem to be weaker factions and battlegroups that are pretty niche - but fun - if you know what you're doing.

Likes: It's better than many RTSs today with a good campaign meta-map.

Dislikes: DoW3.

Been playing this since it came out - still enjoy playing with friends.

I have hundreds of hours playing DOW1, DOW 2, I played table top 40k and read 40k books regularly. I have history with relic RTS and I like them alot.


That said - I can tell you this is good game. If you released this game with a different title than DOW, I guarantee it'd have positive reviews. I think the reviews suffer from it being part of a baggage heavy DoW franchise and the super capricious fans that come with it.

You just should know before you buy that this is a different game than the ones that came before it and take it for what it is.

Very stoked to see what races/ maps/ and modes come next.
