I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it but it's pretty fun for what it is

it's okay but it's online only and the weapons take forever to get and a lot of them are behind a paywall for a $40 game
also, after you pay extra for currency to buy the thing to get new weapons, you have to then go play like 50 hours of the game to unlock what you bought, pretty cool

extra note: it's extremely unoptimized

it has plenty of toys for you so you can barbecue those boys in blue (possibly while drinking poison brew)

I can't recommend this because of the price. If they didn't butcher the launch, they probably wouldn't have had to price it so high and get reviews like this. The content is okay, it's not bad at all, but probably deserved the price of a PAYDAY 2 dlc

The game itself is everything I could've wanted from the sequel to PAYDAY 2. I very much enjoy the return to grounded gameplay, scenarios, and story that we got in PAYDAY: The Heist and early PAYDAY 2.

You actually feel like a squad of human beings infiltrating and stealing from various real places, not super saiyan monsters who can run light speed and dodge half the bullets thrown your way while you fight aliens as Ethan and Hila.

HOWEVER
There is no offline functionality as it stands, although they are already taking steps to implement it with solo mode beta. I preordered this game before the public knew that the game wouldn't have any offline functionality, sadly

On top of that, armor is not an infinite resource like in PAYDAY 2, which could work in other games, but not in PAYDAY. In a game where a heist could potentially be infinite, and being greedy is incentivized, having all sources of survivability be finite really makes every single hit you take feel horrible.

With Armor 2.0 coming soon, this will be fixed, but I cannot genuinely recommend this game until then

If you like the idea of a difficult, sort of metroidvania-type roguelite game and you are interested in an excellently executed, yet humbly confusing and depressing story told through the environment and various motifs, this is perfect for you. It's pretty damn perfect for me.

It's also visually stunning.

It intrigues you, then slowly unravels a psychologically dreadful, infinite hell. That's all I will want to say.

They said they would have team AI pretty soon after launch and they haven't put it in yet about half a year later. Instead, they keep putting extra maps and other content in. As someone who would only play with friends or solo, this is really disappointing.
