Fun attempt at a remake of the original (Total Annihilation). Good to kill time, but poorly optimized and the original was much much better.

I want to like it. I really do. And I often find myself coming back to it in hopes of any actual progress being made, while getting trapped into the early game enjoyment. The problem is, that is literally all there is. After the first 10 or so hours into your campaign (if your lucky, and it doesn't happen earlier than that), the game loses almost all of my attention. The only real updates we are getting are crash fixes...which, on a game that is "officially released" says a lot as they should have already been corrected. Once you get up to large scale battles (army vs army, vice party vs party), you have to hide in the back in hopes of not taking damage and falling in battle. Even if you turn off the death aspect, you still have to fear falling in battle because you lose all control of the army and the AI (which in this case stands for Abysmal Intelligence) takes over and your army will most likely get demolished as it sets a standard "charge" aspect on everything. Even archers. If you want to have fun for just long enough to get trapped into playing because of the time you have dumped into it coupled with the sweet memories of initially starting...go ahead and give it a shot. Just don't be surprised when you throw your keyboard through the window once you finally admit to yourself how shallow the game you just put 30+ hours into is. Repetitive "quests" with a Whack-a-mole campaign concept as enemy armies literally replenish within a day or two of in-game time. Oh and did I mention there is little to no content? Could be so much more, and needs to be discounted to represent the effort being put into it...which, is roughly $15. Buy on sale, if it ever is.

Thank god this was a gift. Until Rockstar actually decides to do something to prevent hackers, online is unplayable. Aimbot, randomly blowing you up on demand, teleporting you into cabins you cant exit...forcing you to log, only to find out there are people on almost every online session doing it. Back to the Witcher 3.
