To begin, GOD THIS GAME HAD ME HOOKED FOR ALMOST 8 HOURS STRAIGHT. If I didn't have any reasons to stop playing outside of life, I would have played the entire game in one sitting and (playfully) bullied everybody into playing the demo with me.

This game has a demo. If you like Source engine movement tech and/or Titanfall, Apex Legends, Ultrakill, or Tribes, try the game.

If this game didn't have any gunplay, the hoverboard, grapple, and open world could probably stand as it's own tech demo. I wouldn't say it could stand on its own as a gamr, but the movement is so finely tuned that you really can reach most places that you can see if you use your grapple and momentum together (and maybe a grenade.)

The weapons feel good. Nobody is asking for anything deeper I'm sure, but there are a few upgrades that I realize just don't work. The pump shotguns double-tap, while nice at first, is just a waste of ammo. Multiple scopes felt misaligned too, but the hip fire spread is tight already and sights can totally be avoided.

The story is just goofy fun. Big baddie doing big bad thing, stop big bad man oo. Be reasonable, most players aren't going to stop and read. It's there if you need a second to stop and get a bit of context for your objective, not to immerse you or anything. You're kickflipping a hoverboard and doing backflip 360 no-scopes on fools, bro, you don't need to stop for that dialog box-- Look! There's the next scan! Literally.
You'll just get caught moving from point A to point B at record speed, and then going back because looking around for hats is fun. This game is as silly and stylish as you want. The weapon selection is very good. The perks let you goof off and miss half your shots and still win.

Just play Left 4 Dead.

In my first few matches with my buddy, we had a blast all the way through. This game needs more players. It's so fun, but 2v2 lobbies are usually the same few. If you like utter nonsense in a fun package, pick this game up. It's fun with friends and maybe you could do some private matches with friends, or you can play ranked! You guys like ranked games, but even casual is fun as hell.

TL;DR it's an amazing MOBA Battle Royale game. I've spent another however long playing, and my thoughts haven't changed for the most part. Please give the game a try!

I'll be honest with you;

I read MOBA/Battle-Royale/Survival and thought to myself "man, this game can't possibly play well at all."
Oh boy, I was wrong. This is probably my favorite of all three of those categories on Steam!
I'm a casual MOBA player, so I've played pretty much no League or Dota 2. All my hours in Dota are bot matches because I don't trust myself online. Going solo in Eternal Return has been an amazing experience. I've actually had a ton of fun playing, and I don't ever rage at the game; only irritated at the players. That's not to say all players are bad, but please stop initiating fights off spawn. It just wastes our time, and we're both behind in the match. After further reconsideration, please continue as you will. Early fighting is done to get weapon levels up and now I realize that.

Overall, I would 100% recommend this game. I've had such a great time with it, and I can't wait to see more characters release.

We have skins, now I want skins on the characters I like. :)
