Squad 44, formerly known as Post Scriptum, is a very fun WW2 shooter which balances arcade-like gameplay with military simulation very well. The playerbase are very respectable, knowledgeable gents (and ladies) who loves immersion.

You are tasked to either defend or attack multiple points on the map, depending on what team you choose (duh). Your team consists of:
A platoon commander, whose job is to call airstrikes, bombing runs etc. on points of interests.
Infantry squads, consisting of one squad leader and up-to 8 other infantrymen like MG, sapper, radioman etc.
Logistics squads, who are responsible for setting up supplies and defenses at the various cap points.
Armored squads, whose responsibilites vary from supporting infantry in towns to engaging hostile tanks.

There are many different roles to choose from, here are a few examples.
Are you a leading-type who likes to be at the very front of the action? Squad lead is for you.
Are you a more lonewolf type who wants to keep a low profile? Sharpshooter is the perfect role.
Are you a heavy-weapons type who likes to see tanks and half-tracks go boom? Bazooka/Panzerabwehr it is!
Interested in tanks? Well you can play a tank commander, tank chauffeur or you can man the tank's cannon.

Now, one of the downsides is that unless you have a very beefy computer, the game will start to perform worse as a match goes on. You might start the match with 100+ fps, but end it with 30-40. You get used to it (at least i do), but it's something to keep in mind.

All in all, if you like shooting, blowing things up, working as a team to win against the other side, driving/shooting/commanding tanks, and/or you simply like chatting with people while in a foxhole somewhere, this game is for you.

Also don't forget to hydrate. Very important. And keep your socks dry, too, will ya?
