A fantastic prequel that is well worth your time, I'm annoyed I didn't play this sooner!

I've had this on my wishlist since its early development shortly after Severed Steel's release and man did this game deliver. Phenomenal movement, gunplay and progression so far and I've only just scratched the surface. If you're going to support any indie game right now, let it be Echo Point Nova!

This is a very bare bones review during the early access period.

Concord has the foundations of a great arena based hero shooter, combining elements of Destiny 1 PVP and Overwatch. However right now there appears to be serious problems with matchmaking here in the EU. It's hard to tell the exact cause but judging by the overly long wait times (1-2 mins minimum) and the fact that my ping is showing as low compared to everyone else in the lobbies, I'd place a bet in saying not only is the player base extremely low, but that the majority are based on NA servers.

I'm hoping that upon full release later today a big wave of players will help iron out these matchmaking problems as I really just want to give the game a fair shot after I had a good amount of fun with the Beta. Here's hoping that others give the game a chance and in doing so creates a better experience for all of us currently facing matchmaking and latency issues.

The only constant in this world is that I waste money on the Blackcell Battle Pass every season....

Aside from its performance that needs optimisation, this is a great early access launch. There appears to be a very good amount of content at launch with stellar gameplay that blends Diablo and Dark Souls, with visuals that look even more gorgeous than their two previous Ori games. I can't wait to see how this evolves.

Helldivers was an underrated gem on PS4 and PC almost 10 years ago. Thankfully Helldivers 2 retains all of its brilliant DNA whilst evolving it into a fluid Third Person Shooter that feels fresh. Also great to see that the game has done extremely well at launch and I'm hoping for a long post launch that really expands the galaxy with new and returning races to fight as well as even more systems to traverse and gear to use!

Edit: nearly 5 months after launch and the game is in a terrible state. Issues I've had since launch still haven't been fixed, the first paid dlc released and was a joke for the price and most of all, the communication from the devs has been the same "we're working on it and it's a possiblity" they've had since launch. This game clearly needed another year in the oven and because of the miserable launch I honestly don't know if the game can come back from it. For now I'm changing my review to a negative one. (My points below still stand but I cannot recommend the game in its current state.)

Matchmaking issues aside, the game is a lot of fun. A massive improvement over Payday 2 in visuals, gameplay mechanics and overall polish. Each heist at launch is varied and has multiple ways to complete it (aside from one loud only). The only major gripe I have is with progression, the entire levelling system is based around challenges rather than XP earned in the heist from the amount of loot gained, kills, etc. This means that whilst the first 20-30 levels are pretty quick as you do the first completion on Normal for all of the heists, it quickly devolves into looking at challenges and playing heists in very specific ways with weapons you might not necessarily want to use in order to actually progress. Hopefully in the future this can be changed to be more in line with Payday 2 and other FPS games and just have the challenges as a nice bonus on top of that.

Like I said at the start, I'm really enjoying my time with it but the challenge based progression, matchmaking issues and lack of an offline mode really needs to change.

Oh yeah and I wouldn't recommend doing the Infamy rewards for Payday 2 on Nebula, they seem to be bugged and caused multiple loadout options to be missing in my game (Ammo Bags, Overkill Weapon and Hoxton as a playable character).
