Game is over-hated which is per usual for a Bethesda title. Same goes for when Fallout 4 released.

I can recommend this game, however people should know what they are getting into before purchasing the title.
I DO NOT have an issue with Jill speaking during combat sequences, but Carlos's VA does a far better job in this regard.
One liners are terrible, and so is a large portion of the writing in the ladder half of the game. The textures, lighting, video quality are all a step above REmake2, but the variety dies out pretty quickly. Same goes for creature variety. Nemesis is underutilized and is boring in all of his fights. He's fine when you're exploring, but his A.I is not the greatest. I'd wait for sale, I purchased this game a few months back for 20 bucks off and I'm fine with a 40 price tag over a 60 on this one.

All in all, this game has all the issues REmake2 had and then some. The combat is better, but I honestly think the dodge mechanic is terrible, and only really useful in boss fights. I'd say the game is getting far more hate than it deserves, but there are people ignoring the major issues pretty heavily, from what I can see. It's only slightly better than RE7, but just as forgivable.

Pretty much a 6/10 for me.

You're only allowed to like the game. It's a solid 7 out of 10. It's a fine attempt at a different kind of game, but it keeps the old FromSoftware issues. The community seems to adopted this as being better than Dark Souls because it's considered harder by and large. Which is fine, it's pretty fun to watch people defend the game when someone doesn't like it. Never change FromSoftware zealots. I can recommend it due to the game feeling good when the mechanics want to work as intended. Some of the main boss fights are fun, some aren't made to be fun and either require luck or correct use of deflection. The story is meh, but better than the way they told lore to the player in most of DS. I'll continue to play till I beat it once then probably not touch it again for a while.

Ending note: The trailers sort of highlight a second playthrough more than a first, for anyone thinking they can be as cool as what they show off quickly. Bit misleading, but that is the name of the game I suppose.

Game is far better than it's early release when I played it back in 2018.

It's a fine free game. Many of the animations are out-dated and I am not the biggest fan of cosmetics, so that is largely dead to me. However, so far, it doesn't seem impossible to do later game content without feeling like you have to pay for it in some way.

The community sustained economy is iffy as it's rather easy to abuse and is most often the case.

Glad you can sprint, kick and scrap again as the original allowed. This is a far easier experience overall.

It's at least fine enough to play to kill time.

Since no one actually makes a good negative review. Here's a bad positive one. The game is great, the problem is that people dislike change. Everything Fallout needs to be "perfect" for some people. Now, they may say that's not true, but from what I've read it is. "It's not like Fallout 3/FalloutNV/Fallout1/2/Tactics" That's all I see. Originally people used Witcher 3 as an example. It's pretty simple for me, the first two installments of the Witcher had bad gameplay, while the third really shined in combat for me. In the current industry there are so many stinkers, this isn't one of them. Anyone who was dumb enough to buy this game wanting it to be a repackaged older title deserves to be disapointed. Same goes for the people who pre-ordered the game after watching the footage they showed well before the release. They didn't lie about anything, they didn't pull anything. I happily recommend this product.
