There's not much that I can say that hasn't already been said about this game. It's great through and through, provides interesting combat and story that gets expanded upon as the game continues. Puzzles are intruiging even the second and third times through the game, and it just gets better after that. The first time I ever explored Highway 17 and the surrounding areas might be my favorite moment in gaming. I also want to plug the fun and interesting speedrunning scene, and all the fun you can have with the Source Engine. But yeah, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great.

If you love stealth games, and you love First Person Shooters, and you love that sweet sweet lore, this one is for you. The combat of this game is rich and deep, with a high skill cealing, providing many more hours of gameplay after you originally learn the moves. Sneaking around with the powers like blink and Bend Time feels amazingly badass. The guard lines are classic, the lore is a lovely bonus that is really, really intruiging (Sad they didn't expand on it more in the subsequent games ;-;) and the game is just all in all a masterpeice. Really reccommend this one.

I enjoyed Axiom Verge, I really did. But, since so many people lately are praising it, I'm going to do something different with my review and say the one thing I didn't like. And that's the bosses. Most of the bosses, instead of being challenging and rewarding fights, are either long and tedious, or really easy to cheese. I either beat the bosses in a few seconds, or, in the case of the mechanical beam lance boss, had to duck in and out of the room in order to survive. Just in general, the bosses are kinda lackluster. The rest of the game, music, exploring sections, etc. is amazing though, and I still reccommend you check it out, especially if you are a fan of original & Super Metroid.

Amazing soundtrack, world building, story, combat, level design, mapping, enemy variety.. I could go on :P

Great game. Great weapon variety, fun times. The wait to get matchmaking is a bit annoying though, and if you don't want to spend money on this game, then good luck getting very far in it.
