I have a very interesting history with this game. I pre-ordered the collector's edition back in 2015 and was probably more hyped for this game than any other before it, as I loved all the story driven linear Metal Gears, even 4!

Then the game came out and was a sandbox with barely any story or cutscenes, the complete opposite of its marketing, it was probably the biggest disappointment ever. Then I replayed it last year and it is probably one of the most fun open world or stealth games I have ever played. Impeccable sense of mission structure, perfect 1980s military aesthetics (I recommend DLing the historically accurate weapons mod), fun basebuilding and a million ways to approach a mission or engagement.

What a difference almost 10 years of perspective can make! Amazing game!

This game, which was originally released in 2021, is worse in literally every single aspect than Red Orchestra 2, which was released in 2011. It looks worse!!! somehow, has worse animations, worse gunplay and if you would not have told me this was made by a chinese game dev I would consider it an asset flip!!!

This is the most longhoused millenial shooter I have ever played. This game seems like a parody that Million Dollar Extreme wouldve made. Every single detail, from the dysgenic characters, the announcer, to the basic HUD screams 35 year old dude who posts his hecking doggo on reddit. I cannot believe people who used to work on battlefield have lost their sense of visuals in such totality.
The main gameplay loop is alright but give the grapple hook 2 every1

Most fun i had with a battlefield game since bf 3 and its a roblox copy prob made by people half my age
