So, this game is fantastic.

I have only one real gripe and its the lack of stun towards the robot enemy. I got spawn camped and died 4 times, and there is only 1 gun that takes it down. It was pretty disappointing and definitely made the experience sour as it was my last game played during the night. Losing the credits consistently over a non preventable death is pretty ridiculous.

The game itself though still is wonderful. Graphics are great, the customization is a great touch, upgrades are to be desired but I am sure there is gonna be more in the future, along with map variety. So I am pretty excited to keep up with the game and its progress!

I think this game is phenomenal. I recommend it even at early stage, however It took me over a year to actually get around trusting this game enough to buy it. I have played PPD for 3 years or so, so this was a hard curve for me to make. I will be comparing the two occasionally.

I will list my pros and cons below.

PROS...

- The UI is overall good, but could use some work. i feel in some cases its far too small and the font can be a bit hard to read. Some things feel really congested.

- The audio is great! The sound affects are.. good. I hate the scratch and slider sound, but thats just me and a couple others ive talked to. One thing im pleased about is that menu selection isnt loud like PPD is. So it earns some points there.

- Editor is damn near PERFECT. I have little to no complaints. the animations and set up are easy to read, unlike PPD where you needed loads of plugins to get anything done. I feel like there is a shift in BPM timing at certain points.. I know I have the right BPM yet the further you go along the note accuracy dwindles. I do wish that there will be an auto play feature, if not one already. Im not always in the mood to play the charts I make.

- Workshop accessibility is awesome. In multiplayer, choosing a song is easy when it comes down to the workshop. If your friend doesn't have the song you selected from steam , it'll automatically download it for them making choosing something easy.

CONS...

- As I mentioned before, the UI needs some work with scaling an font. Its a small detail but could greatly impact the image.

- No PPD import thumbnail support. When I import my songs, I have to PLAY them in order to hear the preview on the menu.. which when you have someone who has 1300 songs, it can get a little annoying doing so, especially since some of my songs are in kanji, which I cant read. It would be nice if this was rectified.

- The sound effects sometimes.. Oh gosh that scratch and slider sound is not great. Not the quality, but the choice to make it that to begin with. I know Project DIVA as a whole has wackier sounds, but when you make most of your buttons sound tacky and high, I question why the scratch and slider sound like loud drums..

- Import is easy but I wish the selection of audio and settings as a whole was more organized. It gets disorienting when I see the same text duplicated 3 times over itself just for one or two notes. The specification can get a little foggy with slider and whatnot. Maybe its just a lingo thing, but I tend to zone out whenever Im trying to change my note sounds because of these reasons. The font doesnt make it any easier given its more of a condensed letter type, so they look even closer than intended.

- No common score feature in multiplayer. Im sorry but when you dont include this it makes things 30x harder than they should be. I shouldnt have to play a guessing game of who has what and actively type in chat with randos im not in a call with. The lack of having this feature is the biggest pit ive ran into with this game, because I had to make an entire folder of my own copied songs to give to someone else over this issue. Which.. If you saw above, was a lot. That is partially on me, but again when rooms are public, you cant expect people who have imported PPD songs to guess and go with every chart they have in their directory. PPD has implemented this feature, so im confused why this wasnt one of their first decisions.

OVERALL..

I really love this game. I got to relive memories of the old F and F2nd Edit days, and the edit mode shocked me considering it felt like I was charting on my vita again. Everything is easy to do, which is great. I cant wait to see what this game turns out to be in the future, and the discord for help and updates is wonderfully put together and active.

Peace!
