It is what it sets out to be: a cross between Settlers and Lemmings. It does away with a lot of frustrations of the latter (mainly due to the Craftlings respawning), but it is similarly slow to older Settlers titles. If the levels have an optimal route you can set early once, I have not found them yet; there is some ladder/elevator/signpost juggling involved.
More of a puzzle than a strategy game, engaging, but slow paced.

My playtime on Steam is low because I mostly played in browser or on mobile.

Certainly more than *just* a clone of a certain handheld console game. There's a more sci-fi/fantasy bent to it, with units like jetpack troops, dragons or mecha; there's construction and destruction of buildings on the map; there's a lot of powers, but they aren't as dramatic as CO powers in AW; and finally there's an invasion system, where you can open yourself to get invaded by other players when playing campaign. Other players can help you, can hinder you or even take over the AI opponent! Matches can get pretty crazy when 5 players invade your game all at once and start fighting each other.

On top of that the game just looks good. My only complaints would be that some of the map decorations make maps a bit cluttered, music is only OK at best and Jeep sprite is too similar to Humvee (and honestly, the Jeep should have been a Supply Truck, as this is its role). The interface is optimised for touch controls, which makes mouse controls a little clunky.

Probably the best entry point for both 40k and RTS games.

It's the kind of game that would have been released for free in the early 2010s on Kongregate or Newgrounds, but it's not worth any money, even as little as the asking price. I wouldn't be this harsh if it was just kinda dull and repetitive (which it is), but it's way too easy to cheese without any safeguards against it. The whole tower color and upgrades systems are nice, but the fundamentals aren't implemented well. The most egregious examples are the fact that the Source tower makes money even before you start the game (so you can put one down, return after a while of idling and then build up max level towers on every spot before Wave 1), no skill point limits per level (you can replay the first level over and over again and gain 4 skill points to spend each time, so you can max out all skills before even looking at Level 2) or even calling new waves early not giving the player any kind of a bonus.
Not worth your time.

I had to uninstall it after a week because my productivity dropped like a rock due to this game.

As fun as the game is, technical issues are a big damper on my fun. The game crashes a lot and it heats up the CPU and GPU for no apparent reason. I would be more forgiving if this game did not come out 2 years ago and wasn't more stable in the past.

There is a lot of witty, interesting and odd writing in this game. Everything else serves as ways and obstacles towards getting the next new piece of lore. A lot of it is randomised, but within reason. If English isn't your first language be wary, as the writing uses a lot of unusual words, phrases and similes. While game mechanics are presented in a straightforward way, the world itself is described with a lot of irony that may be difficult to parse for ESLs.
