This is by far the best way of demonstrating how sequels should be handled. This game is an overhaul of the last game, replacing many systems from the old game to this one in order to create a more self-representing play style.

How so?
They added the charm system from Hollow Knight allowing you to equip up to 8 total if completioned
Side quests with a side quest tracker
Map that retraces your steps
More Bosses
An actual combat system with a combo mechanic rather than a kite and sein battle system
(Different weaponry btw)
New movement options

See, the way I saw it, OatBF was amazing, I loved it all, characters, platforming and artstyle. But Hollow knight came in and just cucked its spot from my heart due to the diversity in gameplay, not so much in style. But then Ori is just over here making me simp because it's a combination of both the Ori style and Hollow Knight style and god, it hurts as to how good of a Metroidvania this actually is.

Better than Sword and Shield for many reason.
1.) Difficulty is similar to old Gen pokemon, meaning grinding will be required or else an item consumption spree mid battle will occur.
2.) Aprox. Same amount of temtems as there is Pokemon in Galar region, all unique
3.) Models and animations feel much more lively
4.) Is realistically a Co-op MMO, you can play through the entire game all together rather than focusing on Raid Battles.
5.) Locations are all truly unique, each island/location being much more diverse
6.) Character Cust. is much more lively in every way possible and won't be a similar variation of a track suit.
7.) Gym battles or "Dojo" Battles are an actual challenge and aren't a gimeck-y mess where you can power house you way through with a single Dynamax.
8.) No framerate loss due to population and no wild area.
9.) Peculiar starters (Psychic, Fairy?, and fighting types) that teach you the mechanics deeply.
10.) EVS and IVS matter, no stupid item or hyper training :D Breeding is important too
11.) Constant dev sup. 12 Am hotfixes, I mean cmon, these guys are above and beyond,
12.) No team xp share.

I love pokemon with a passion (Even playing the TCG IRL) and hate to just jump into a spinoff franchise as this, but similar to Sonic Mania, this is an instance in which the fans make a better game for the community rather than the original creators or company of the genre. As of now I will completely recommend this game to anyone over S/S due to its pricing and early access content.

I finished it in 2.9 hours. It was great.

Reminded me of how tragic Paul Walker's death was.

Lol. When I join matches or lobbies it's frozen on "Searching" and I cannot seem to bypass it. Such a simple bug has not yet been solved. How depressing.

I will say that I played the Closed Beta on xbox and I am still not impressed. Everything still feels unsatisfying and the Hud is just UGH.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaan this is one of those hidden gems in Indie gaming. This needs more popularity! More attention!
