I originally wrote a review, praising this game and giving it a 10/10, but in just 30 more hours it's waned so far down to about a 7.5/10, this game is legendary!!! The writing and amount of options are just stunning, everything is so immaculately done! And yet, at the center of it all, there's this rat poison of a battle system, in which starting at the normal difficulty, every fight in the first act felt like it might as well have been the final boss, lowering the difficulty 20 hours in did little to improve the sickly feeling I was getting every fight. At the easiest difficulty, Baldurs Gate forces me to watch my party die and spend turns reviving them multiple times, even at my most prepared, I had to set up cheese strategies to have a chance at winning most fights in the game, and even with those strategies, it'd take me 5-10 tries. Not to mention it seems like no matter what I did, hit % chances were always below 70 for ANYTHING RANGED, including all magic and arrows. It's absolutely infuriating to have a run of bad luck and have to redo an entire fight 30 minutes in. And yet, this game is still amazing!!!! I don't get it, however i do know that i still can't get into most CRPGS, even when probably the best one of all time is staring me in the face.

Something compelled me to dump 20 hours over the course of 2 days into this game. MUST. ACHIEVE. MAXIMUM. EFFICIENCY. 9/10

Got softlocked by getting an uncurable poison 2 and half hours into a dive and my choices were either to lose all that progress, or do a no hit run all the way to the boss of the layer with only 2 weapons that break in 5 hits! I'm not doing either of those, i'm done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/10

This game does literally everything I love in video games, the tropes, the characters, the level design, the MUSIC, it's all so good. I love it so much. The writing has a comic book geek sort of campyness to all of it. The music is all just so amazing, utilizing licensed songs for the boss fights is one of my favorite things the game does, adds so much to the already amazingly choreographed boss fights. All the girls in the game are really hot too. : )

im mad i ignored this game but maybe it came to me at the exact right time in my life. Powerful story, everything works, the music was amazing, and added to everything the story was trying to do. The battle systems quirks add to the story. Everything in this game works to support its parts. This is a well oiled, perfectly crafted machine of a video game. blah blah blah its real art etc. Just play it! Only flaws are a pretty slow start, and some ideas not necissarily being "original" could set some people off. But the ideas lifted from other greats in the medium don't matter when they're being used this way. I wish I wasn't such a shill in this review, like honestly I think it's probably best to enter this game with 0 expectations other than "rpg maker earthbound type game" This is up there with my other indie favorites (Undertale and Lisa: The Painful)
It made me feel like I was 14 again and i mean that in the best way possible.

roguelike idle game!!!! It's so good to play this and turn on some music or a podcast and watch numbers go up and kill things. Simple, but effective. Upgrades are take long enough to earn that it doesn't feel too easy. I feel like i could play this for a few hours every month for years. 8/10

If you are a 3d sonic fan, ignore the rest of this review, buy the game, it's the best thing we've gotten in a decade. However if you are iffy or even haven't played 3d sonic, I can offer some wise words to maybe sway your purchase. This is one of the strongest 6/10 video games ever made. The soundtrack is legendary with tons of tracks containing vocals, fantastic boss themes, and catchy level themes. The gameplay is improved compared to older 3d sonic games of the modern era (known as the "Boost" games) but it falters in it's crappy open world design. Sonic just doesn't feel very good in the open world, he's too slow sometimes, and too fast when you are trying to precise platform. They gave him a double jump this time around which makes things a lot better compared to other recent outings. The story references old sonic games tastefully but in a way that a big fan would be overjoyed to hear talked about. The writing is SURPRISINGLY GOOD!!! The "cyberspace" levels are just not very good, unfortunately, they are too short, recycle assets from 3d sonic games going back to Unleashed, and generally feel pretty lazy. And the overworld puzzles become tedius by the second island of the game (there's 4 major islands, for reference) The fighting system introduced here, by no means is bad, but it's very simple. Boss fights are really where this combat system shines, and fighting normal enemies in the overworld can become boring pretty fast, some miniboss fights are really good, others suck. I'm running outta things to say but there's some info from a guy who loves sonic games, despite their flaws.

All thanks to a close friends recommendation, I gave this game a shot. A walking sim made by a pretty small team with a short impactful story to tell. If that description sounds like it's for you, then get this game now!! It's worth it. The voice acting is superb too. 8/10

A shortform Dice (((based)))) roleplaying game not unlike Disco Elysium. Funny, witty, extremely fun and unpredictable. 9/10

i usually beat a game before i leave a review but i know this final boss is gonna whoop my ass for like at least 2 more hours of gametime so i'll just review it now.
Tribal Hunter is a pretty good metroidvania, and it'll also give you some kind of fetish, maybe even multiple. I like the upgrade systems, the progression is smooth. Movement is tightly designed and it's fun just to jump around. Bosses are all interesting characters which is always a big plus to me. Is this game worth playing? Yes, i'd say for people over 18, even if you don't have any of the fetishes this game clearly caters to, it's still a fantastic tightly knit time. 8.5/10
