This is a very solid 7.5/10 title for $20, but there are a number of massive cracks that stop it from being the best it can be.
It's a B-movie heisting game with B+ design and execution. It's got a number of good things going for it and I've heard that there's work to make this game worthy of it, which I appreciate.

This game has some slight bugs and kooky AI at times, and some bad designs at points that have resulted in me failing a few missions because it didn't properly explain certain mechanics. It seems designed around an already existing familiarity with this title/similar titles in order to smooth out the on-boarding experience.

This game was very obviously made by people who use English as their second language, and while the localization doesn't render the game unplayable or anything, it does make the game's UI and visual language counter-intuitive at times and it makes the writing and voicelines god-awful, even from the perspective of a purely gameplay-focused person like myself. Even the voice direction in a mission can come off as extremely inconsistent. I'd call for retakes if I were Ingame Studios.

All that aside, the trailers and screenshots don't do this game justice, and that's a shame because it's got a really interesting campaign system with its "roguelike mode", (It's more like an ironman gamemode with roguelite progression elements sprinkled in) and a multiplayer mode that makes it a decent standalone coop shooter title. It reminds me of those Gen 7 console titles that'd have multiplayer-exclusive content but it's clear that it's not the main focus, especially with its extremely effective reuse of assets to make the most out of what it has.

This game still needs a ton of work to make it as good as i'd like, but what's here right now is definitely worth the $15-$20 asking price, but if the devs and publishers maintain the momentum they have with this title, I can see this game filling the void of heisting games left by the disappointment that was Payday 3.

"Palworld is a monster-catching, survival and crafting game, but incorporates a variety of mechanics from other genres in order to provide a completely new experience for everyone.

In order to collect feedback on these elements and grow the game into one that everyone can enjoy, we believe that feedback from everyone in the community is necessary.

Therefore, we have decided to release Palworld into Early Access."

These are the words of the developer, which I think ring true.
Palworld's combination of mechanics from other genres brings a fresh take to the open world survival craft genre, which, although very rough in a lot of areas, has a lot of potential, and is already great as it is right now.

However, also per the developer's words, this game was released in early access with the express purpose of engaging with the community to figure out what they can do to make the game better.

This game is technically feature complete, but is very rough and flawed at the moment, but to me, I think the game is worth it, even right now.

This game's gameplay consists of you swiping your credit card to buy DLC that gets taken away two years after you purchase it.

I was interested in this game because It had the letter O in it and it was appropriately-priced shovelware at the time.

Now it's just shovelware.

I like this game, but I simply cannot recommend it. FFXIV is an MMO only by technicality, and is actually more akin to a singleplayer RPG that you can (And sometimes must) play with other people. I consider it better than most others in its field, but it has major issues that the devs have had almost a decade to fix, with no end in sight. I initially stomached through the abysmally long main campaign because I heard the endgame was good, and having sunk 200+ hours and $70+ just to be able to get to that point, I powered through it and got to the end. Was it worth it?
No.

Getting into FFXIV is difficult because everything from the account system to the "Main storyline" to getting to the ACTUAL ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MMO PART OF THE GAME is just full of unnecessary ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you need to wade through in order to get to the actually good part of the game.
It's not even something I can just tell people to stomach, we're talking 200+ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours of this ♥♥♥♥, and that's after, what, their second or third campaign rework? They even let you pay to skip all the stupid, trite busywork that plagues this game's main quest just to rub it in your face, it's disgusting.

This game's a top tier time waster, great for solo casual players, but I'd then have to question why anybody would decide to pay a subscription to play what effectively becomes an online only singleplayer RPG. It's got enough side content to offer a number of fun distractions, but for the (Recurring) asking price it's just simply not worth it.

This is a nice little shooty fun action platformer game to turn your brain off and kill baddies with a very solid combat loop that focuses on weapon variety and synergies more than anything else,
but my GOD is it overpriced for what it is.

It's incredibly short and there's not much replay value since everything this game really has to offer can be achieved in the first playthrough, no sweat.

Wait for a steep, steep sale. This is worth $20-25 at most.

I can't describe how much I absolutely adore this game. I recommend buying it even in Early Access, there's enough content here to make your purchase worth it and there's a lot of fun to be had with this game.
Word of warning though, You simply CANNOT play this game with a controller for reasons i'll get into later, but it takes the medium of KBM controls and runs with it.

The main reason you'd want to play this on a setup with a keyboard is because the computers in this game require you to type out the commands you want them to execute word for word, just like in a terminal. Besides an unclear font choice on the terminals themselves (I and J look a little too similar IMO) I think it's a standout mechanic that'll throw people in for a loop, albeit at the direct expense of controller friendliness. Since this game is channeling the spirit of 90's era PC games, i'd say it's appropriate but it'll definitely cut down on the mass appeal.

The design of this game is nothing short of bravery, it's not for everyone, but it takes the advantages of being limited to hardcore players on KBM and runs with it, and I love the result.

Compound is a very flexible and fun little roguelike game that does what it does very well. The trailers do a very good job of describing what you'll be experiencing when you play the game, so i'll let them speak for themselves. I'm just throwing this review up to just say that it is in fact very good.

Borderline must have game. The only situation i'd recommend against getting it is if you're just not interested in what it has to offer.

Hunt Down The Mossman is an excellent take on the Half Life series, iterating upon the source material and playing around with the conventions of not only the series, but Valve games in general. My only complaint with the game is that it crashed once when I accidentally sequence-broke a dialogue chain, and in one or two sections your objective is unclear.

I'd especially like to praise the difficulty, which even the hardest one is better-balanced than the source material, in my opinion. It made the combat fun and engaging.
