A beautiful voxel destruction game perfect for stress relief. Solid and very detailed. Has some performance issues, especially on AMD hardware, but from what I've heard, the developer is aware of this and it should hopefully improve.

Update 2021-02: Performance on my 5700 XT seems much better as of the new patch. Thank you Tuxedo Labs for putting so much effort into this game!

I picked up Hacknet while it was free on Humble, and I have to say, if I had the money to go back and buy it I'd do it a hundred times. Hacknet is a beautiful game with a satisfying story, and it's chock full of easter eggs and tiny details that make it feel like you're actually part of the digial world this all takes place in. The game feels alive; it feels like you're actually breaking into systems people use on a day to tay basis. You'll find personal documents, corporate memos, IRC logs, humurous writing assignments, and much more scattered around the different machines, making it feel like there's an actual world here.

Admittedly, Hacknet does dumb down the hacking a fair bit, making it feel more like you're in CSI rather than a real hackerman. But this is fine. It's a game, it's not meant to be hyperrealistic and super challenging to learn. It doesn't take years of training and a cybersecurity certificationton pick up Hacknet. Additionally, what Hacknet lacks in realism, it more than makes up for in terms of interesting and challenging missions. There's so much to do, so many interesting surprises, and a healthy balance of comedic contracts like stealing fried chicken recipies with some rather serious moral choices. And as if that wasn't enough, many of its missions left me on the edge of my seat, sighing in relief as I barely hit the mark with merely seconds to spare.

To top it off, Hacknet features a brilliant OST that I just can't stop listening to. Every song was carefully chosen to match the current atmosphere in the game, and it certainly shows. It really feels like you're in a movie here; when that email comes in and the song changes, you know it's about to go down.

Overall, Hacknet (and its Labyrinths DLC, which I also highly recommend) is one of the best games I've played. It features a compelling story that will rope you in, even if you aren't its main character. It will play with your emotions quite beautifully, and leave you victorious yet bittersweet. It's such a fascinating, well-designed and well-written game, and it left me begging for more.

My name is Byte, and if you're reading this, buy this game.

Simple to grasp yet challenging to solve puzzle game made by one of the best puzzle game developers. Compete against players around the world to make the most--or least--optimized solutions.

Love this game. Love this developer.

Though I've never really enjoyed strategy games, Sid Meier's Civilization V has definately been an enjoyable game to play. Though things aren't always historically correct *cough cough* (America in the ancient era), it's still fun trying to outlast the AI or the barbarians.
Overall, this is one of the best games I've played so far. If you have the money, get it.
