This is my review after completing the game once.
So first the game itself I think it overdoes a lot of things first the game is divided into chapters and each chapter is a different map and all of them are huge and have lots of side quest.
Also the depth of the combat is interesting because we only have one type of weapon which is a stick that has two types of attacks light and heavy and on top of that a few spells that you gain just by progressing in the game and some transformations and items that you gain sometimes doing side quest or sometimes following the linear path.
Since the maps are huge there's a lot of bosses the majority of them are just mediocre but there's quite a few that are actually very good in the sense that they have a lot of health and devastating attacks so the usage of spells and transformations becomes tactical and you need to think about when it's the right time to use it.
now we get into the problems, first is that in order to beat the most epic bosses you need to complete certain side quest in order to retreive key items, so unless you got lucky and randomly complete the quest either you tank the bosses or you have to watch a long guide explaining the order of the quests, so you began to adapt a guide culture which could end up affecting the tactical component of the game and ends up being just following a tactic rather than using you own intuition to beat those tough bosses.
also some of the last bosses in the game have long combos that are very hard to learn, to the point that is just a matter of using the spells at the right moment and survive.
is a shame since I think that this game would've been perfect if it wasn't either because of a few details or that the devs did too much to make the game bigger and longer

This is my first souls like coming from games like the witcher.
the combat is really fun and easy to learn but hard to master, is it a fast.
also the art style is on point, has wonderful architecture, music and character design.

the game has a lot of paid cosmetic dlc's but still very fun to play

the game is just mediocre, it tries to be fast paced like RE4, however the game just re-uses a lot of content from RE2 which is very slow, and as a consequence the gameplay itself is a mess, not to mention it has game breaking bugs unlike RE2, the map is a lot smaller and linear than the og 1999 game, also the characters are worse, especially Jill, who when she's in front of a super zombie that can kill her in the blink of an eye, behaves just like if it was an annoyance and even swears at him, in this version Carlos is right she is a supercop.
