Such a wonderful place to start. I've very much had The Witcher on my "to-do" list for a while now and finally got round to beating it. The characters are wonderful (I even enjoyed Geralt for his apparant blandness). It's a rather long game that I found myself wanting to pump more and more hours into. It's clever, whitty, humurous and well balanced between story and action.

The gameplay itself I found very easy to pick up, the primary mechanic (alchemy) is well designed and allows you to enhance Geralt for them rather tough situations. Combat is suprisignly satisfying and can be mastered fairly quickly.

I would strongly recommend playing this, and not skipping to the second, strong character development throughout with interesting stories and names drops that will come into play in the second.

Overall verdict: Loved every minute of it, certainly worth your time & money.
