I am not sure if it is worth playing this version after the recent 20th anniversary update, but I played it through just fine & enjoyed it.

You can find a 20th anniversary patch for the HL2: Update on moddb. Apparently it lets us enjoy the best of both worlds.

GAME OF THE YEAR!
Perfect recreation of the original games climate. Great progression, unforgiving difficulty level and simple gameplay with incredible depth and a multitude of surprising paths and difficult choices.

I'll be playing this one a few times over.

Great one time experience with a beautifull story, but kluncky and annoying gameplay features.
9/10 wouldn't massacre civillians again.

Concise, enjoyable experience. Would 100% recommend for young children for first practice of problem solving and for teenagers with troubled past with their fathers :P
