The game is very entertaining if you enjoy management, have an interest in (geo)politics or the Second World War, or enjoy fantasizing to thoughts of world conquest (Victory shall be mine and so forth). The core mechanics give you a great deal of control over historical nations and are fun to manage. This is one of the games I play most regularly as evidenced by my hours. I grew up on Red Alert 2, COD WaW, and C&C Generals and this game is an excellent combination of all the "vibes", as it were, from those games. The actual gameplay is substantially more strategic than any, though probably not as Rawly fun as those other ones in an acute sense.

The vanilla game can feel shallow after the first thousand or so hours, though devs are improving upon this. Do browse the EXCELLENT mods of this game. TNO is quite possibly the best mod made for a video game ever and is being consistently updated with increasingly better content. Kaiserredux is a very fun one to try as well, but suffers from more "jank".
