This is not a game that'll make you happy, this is not a game that will make you cheerful, this is one of the most depressing games i have ever played, the story combined with the artistic choices on both graphics and soundtrack make for a truly horrific experience inspired by a real event that was not too long ago, this war of mine was a stroke o genius and i hope the developers one day make a sequel.

Short version, great idea, terrible execution.
Edit: If the devs ever release mod tools id give the game a shot, modders nowadays do much better than actual developers.

As much as i like the game, as it is right now its simply not worth it, besides the bugs that can ruin your campaign there are some major issues such as, certain pieces that clearly fit in an area of the ship but you cant place them there because of poorly made collision boxes, torpedoes not launching despite your ships being in a perfect position to launch and very much in range, empires collapsing extremely early on due to the AI's refusal to make peace, which makes the game extremely barren quite fast, over extending the game period from the 1890s to 1940s without much content to show for it, and a tech tree that although well informed and well made, is completely random, ive lost counts of how many times i had extremely advanced tech in aspects such as engines and armor quality, but stuff like submarines and crew training were far behind what they should be, considering that i never focus on any technology and simply let the research do its thing, this shouldnt happen, instead it seems like tech is unlocked at random without any regard for what you should be unlocking in your time period. But all of that doesnt even compare to the misery that is naval battles in the campaign, smaller battles run very smoothly although the ai avoiding any fair confrontation and running away unless they have superior numbers is frustrating, as i have to actually enter the battle and try to catch up to the AI even tho when i tried to disengage on the campaign i failed, but there is also the large naval battles, which are incredibly annoying to play because your fleet spawn at various stupid formations that i have to fix before engaging the enemy (the game doesnt let you deploy your fleet in the formations you want and instead deploys them at random), which usually results in a large number of ships ramming each other (even tho there is a button that makes them avoid ramming each other, which in reality only works to make them completely stop if a ship is close to them even if not in a collision course, but does not work at making them actually avoid colliding with each other), doing all sorts of maneuvers just to go behind a ships that a simple turn the left would have accomplished which results in significant numbers of ships being left behind and the rest of the fleet instead of waiting simply sails on. Instead of doing any solid fixes for what i mentioned above (with the notable exception of content in the early phases of the campaign such as hulls and ship parts, that they are actually working on) they decide to add a bunch of half baked nations such as austria that barely gets anything unique, or nations that werent that important such as china which admittedly gets a lot of unique stuff, or poorly made mechanics such as armies, minor nations (some of which shouldnt even exist at the time), so no, dont get it, at least not at full price.
