2022- NEGATIVE UPDATE

I still play this game, I don't know why. Send Help.

I have returned to this black hole of a game. I cant stop, nothing seems to be working. Not even Obamacare can help me.



09/10/2016- I've Come to the conclusion that I am never going to stop playing. For those wondering the new expansion (mod 10) is actually decent PVE wise. PVP (as a PVP player) is still garbage and p2w, tho as of writing this I think it may be easier to get geared in the near future.

5/29/2022- 2016 me was wrong LUL. If you are a D&D fan and want to play it for the story, i guess its alright at best now. I've played Neverwinter since before it was on steam, I watched it grow to a decent sized MMO and now look down at it as its a fish outta water about to die. Since mod 6, The Developers really stopped listening to the community, pushing what they thought was best and ignoring the input from those on the forums. I've talked to people on the inside at nearly every level of seniority and I get the same vibe from all of them. The Dev team is not only lazy but doesn't care (and haven't for many years). To be honest I'm genuinely surprised that WotC continues to work with Cryptic especially after the MTG MMO failure. Any Neverwinter veteran will tell you, the game had SOOO much potential, but Cryptics negligence is what has taken what was once a flourishing city and given it the Lost City of Atlantis status. When I last played about a year ago, the P2W features had kinda leveled off, gold farmers are still prevalent but the old Exec Producer tried to make it easier for new people to play and get into the game. It didn't appear that he had much say in atlot of the damaging changes to follow as they looked to be fueled for pushing more micro transactions that ultimately tanked the value of items to rock bottom. They've removed countless dungeons, features, and so much more stripping it to a barebones MMO with mediocre expansions. Should they bring back Legacy servers, maybe, just maybe I'll return. But until then, don't bother with Neverwinter, The awards it got are for a version of the game thats long gone, and so is the community surrounding it. I am leaving it positive, because a majority of the hours I have in it are in fact wonderful, the people I've met, and even gone on road trips with IRL has been nothing short of amazing.

I hope Cali fixes the gameplay
