Of course, there is nothing new about this kind of civil disobedience. It was seen sublimely in the refusal of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to obey the laws of Nebuchadnezzar because a higher moral law was involved. It was practiced superbly by the early Christians, who were willing to face hungry lions and the excruciating pain of chopping blocks before submitting to certain unjust laws of the Roman Empire. To a degree, academic freedom is a reality today because Socrates practiced civil disobedience.

Today when I walked into my economics class I saw something I dread every time I close my eyes Someone had brought their new gaming laptop to class The Forklift he used to bring it was still running idle at the back I started sweating as I sat down and gazed over at his 700lb beast He had already reinforced his desk with steel supports and was looking for an outlet to fit a power cable thicker than Amy Schumer’s thigh I start shaking He somehow finds an outlet Tears are running down my cheeks as I send last texts to family saying I love them The teacher starts the lecture and the student turns it on The lights on his RGB keyboard flare to life; a nuclear flash and a deep humming fills my ears and shakes my very soul The city power grid goes dark The classroom begins to shake as the massive fans spin up In mere seconds my world has gone from vibrant life to dark earth shattering void where my body is getting torn apart by the 150mph gale force winds and the 500 dB groan of the fans

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race – I don’t remember what race – he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?
