I really enjoyed this game. The environment and the story has been lovingly crafted. You can tell when a game designer is bringing you something from their heart. Short indie games like this one are where the heart and soul of storytelling still live on in game development. In a world of heartless triple a titles with million-dollar budgets, and overdriven visuals, we need to continue to support titles like this. This is where gaming began. People harnessing technology to tell a story that was important to them. You directly have access to a story that one person is telling you. Essentially, this is the equivalent of sitting around a fire listening to someone telling you a story instead of going to see an over-producted movie. There is just something fundamentally different and fulfilling about it.

I have to say that Iconoclasts is an excellent game. If I had to classify this game, it would be a Metroidvania. Iconoclasts would be a boon to any category that you wanted to add it to. Simply put the mechanics, level design, music and even the story are well crafted here. The controls feel excellent. The action is varied. The mini game sections of each level feel fully integrated to the level and not out of place or irritating. There is plenty of back tracking that you will do after you receive a powerup opening more of the level but the levels and the art look so good, you do not mind seeing it again. The puzzles are varied and not repetitive. I highly recommend this game if you are looking for a good platforming puzzler with some pretty cool mechanics (specifically the wrench).
