Coming from a series veteran, this game is PHENOMENAL and probably one of the best Monster Hunter games to date. Gameplay, story, and visuals are refined to a T to really get you invested in playing and keep you coming back for more, I can already see this game becoming a serious addiction. My only gripe at this point is, as many others have pointed out, optimization. My computer is a fairly tough build (or so I tell myself), and I still see wild framerate dips on the regular, and the occasional stray polygon going crazy around my screen for some reason. I'll hold out hope that this is something Capcom is aware of and working to fix, but as of writing it hasn't been a major issue for me personally. All things considered, its a great game, and well worth the money, just think they need to do some optimization refinements ASAP.

Game is really solid and fun. The combat is super engaging and gory, the graphics and maps are beautiful, and the higher difficulty settings are decently challenging, you'll probably find yourself dying a lot. My only real gripes thus far are that AI companions during the story campaign are very wonky and don't actually help all that much aside from shooting things here and there, it seems abundantly clear the game was intended to be enjoyed with a couple friends. Another thing is if you're running somewhat older hardware, you may find your PC starting to chug during more intense situations, ESPECIALLY when you're under attack from a swarm of tyranids. If you're like me, you may find that the game humbles your current PC build and causes you start looking for some upgrades, but nothing some lower graphical settings can't help (For now). All things considered, the game is great, and I more than recommend picking it up at some point if you haven't already.

While it will be incredibly difficult for new expansions to live up to the story and content from Shadowbringers and Endwalker, Dawntrail still sufficiently hits the target as a decent expansion in my book. I do believe your enjoyment of the story lives and dies with whether or not you like Wuk Lamat as a character (I, personally, did not mind her, but thats not to say everyone's opinion will be the same). The expansion DOES hit the nail on the head with some really good dungeons, trials, and raids, so the post-MSQ content that you'll likely be sinking a fair bit of time into is still just as good as the post-MSQ content we've gotten from other expansions. Overall, I do believe Dawntrail to be a good expansion, but if you go into it thinking you're getting something on the same level as ShB or EW, then you're likely going to be somewhat disappointed. Its probably better to set your expectations to something more akin to Stormblood. Still good, just not the greatest content we've gotten - and that is okay.

I like finding creative ways to kill Astarion because I don't like him.

An incredibly fun and interesting concept, but given the overall length of the game and lack of replayability, I cannot recommend purchasing it, especially at the given price. Not to mention I encountered several issues with objects getting stuck in odd positions, rendering them immovable and essentially soft locking the game. As much as I wanted to like this game, I really can't in its current state. Also worth mentioning that my 1.6 hours of playtime is for doing pretty much everything, practically a completionist run.

Barely anywhere into it, but it's incredibly fun to play and experiment with all the different ways of getting around and reaching new heights. Worth a buy if you need something new to play.
