I was 15 years old when I first played on a (sorry ConcernedApe!) cracked copy of Stardew Valley. I never thought I'd be into farming sims, and I never even liked the idea of writing reviews. And yet here I am, writing a review, over 1000 hours later and 6 years older. Continuing to play Stardew Valley (not cracked!) every once in a while. Sometimes for a long while, easing myself into an old but always-familiar routine like how you would settle into a pair of soft, well-worn shoes. I'm not sure what about this game that always makes me smile and keep coming back to play it. Maybe it's the uplifting and soothing music. Maybe it's the heartwarming storyline and fascinating cast of characters. Heck, maybe I just like making cheese, pickles, and booze for hours at a time without a care in the world.
A lot has happened in these past six years; I'm in my fourth year of university with frankly a lot of uncertainty and strain in my future, However, throughout these six years Stardew Valley has always been a safe and peaceful corner of my life that helps to remind me that things will be fine. And I strongly suspect that Stardew Valley will continue to hold a special place in my heart for 6 years, 1000 hours more ^^ cheers! Looking forward to jumping back into the game after exams are done.
