You can finish the game in a single sitting, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game. The visuals are very cool and unique and the story just gets weirder and weirder as you progress. 100 percent worth a play-through, especially if you grab this game on sale.

Devs care about new skins and making money, do not care about fixing matchmaking or anything else wrong with the game. Took 6 months off and now after coming back, I know why I left and why this game is a mess.

To begin, I've been playing SMITE since late 2013 and everything I say comes from a place of frustration, but hope. This is an amazing game, but it seems to still be plagued with many of the same issues as 5 years ago.

First impression upon returning:
Cool, some new gods and skins... but SMITE's major problems seem to be as bad as ever.
Matchmaking is terrible, queues are insanely long for ranked, try 10 min sometimes in US East. Then, you're lucky if you make it into a real game, DC's are frequent. In the past week I have had two instances where it took me over 30 mins to finally start a game.
Don't even bother with casual. In my last 30 games in the past few weeks I would say there has been a severe skill gap in 25 of those games. There are several players who are obviously newbies and several players who are diamond tier, the balancing seems as pointless and non-existent as ever.
With a game that is so team-oriented and focused on co-operation, it is insane that you can still not chat with your teammates on a mic. It is impossible to talk legit strategies or to explain mistakes when you're trying to frantically type in between fights and farming.

That aside, you'll be lucky if you even get teammates who speak the same language as you.

SMITE has seen minor improvements over the past few years and in my opinion the biggest problems the game had in 2015 are the biggest problems that plague it now. I remember now why I took a break six months ago, and there isn't much making me want to keep playing now.

Feels like it belongs in the Star Wars universe.
It can feel slightly like Dark Souls, Uncharted, even Tomb Raider at times.
The parkour elements and puzzles can be slightly tedious and come across as dull in comparison to the high-action combat.
That said, the combat system is sick, the lightsaber customization is substantial, and this game definitely makes my list of favourite Star Wars games, up there with the original Battlefront II and the old Lego Star Wars Saga.

8.5/10

I just wanted to share my opinion to try and counter the heap of negative reviews that the sale has caused.

This is a premium game with developers that constantly update and improve the game. The game completely warrants the full price tag at $70, and you are complaining when you get it at 66% off? There are COUNTLESS hours of content in the base game.
If newcomers have an issue with not having access to Mortal Empires then I have two things to say to that:

1. Mortal Empires is a combination of two maps from two different games. What newcomers need to understand is that Warhammer 1 had it's own map and storyline. Then Warhammer 2 had it's own map and storyline (Lustria and the story of the Vortex). Mortal Empires was not a part of Warhammer 2 initially and still nobody complained about the game because it was an amazing game and the Vortex Campaign is fun and well though out. Mortal Empires could have been released as paid DLC to fit the model that CA follows but instead they worked hard and released it to people who owned both maps. It's that simple, it was free to people who owned both maps, which is like 95 percent of the player base, who didn't just buy the game on sale for 66 percent off and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ complain.

2. BOTH GAMES TOGETHER RIGHT NOW ARE 35 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOLLARS. IT'S HALF OF WHAT THIS GAME COSTS AT IT'S WARRANTED FULL PRICE. THIS GAME ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROCKS, STOP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Yes the DLC model is kind of rough, but Total War fans know the drill now and we understand how much work the devs put into these games. Yes this game is pricey, but you get what you pay for, constant updates and improvements. Don't come in during a 66% off sale and tarnish the reviews of a perfectly good game because you didn't read into it before you bought it.

And for those refunding... you are idiots...

This game is only going to bring you pain and sadness...
The devs don't care about the fanbase at all.
Major issues have been allowed to slide by for years, and the Extinction update has absolutely ruined the game for me.

A mek can wipe the giant redwood trees? A base that has had thousands of hours of work poured into it by countless players can be decimated in seconds... COME ON WILDCARD!

Just lost an entire base I had been building for weeks with multiple friends of mine because a mega tribe showed up on a giant unstoppable robot. Nowadays in Ark unless you're in a mega tribe and play for 12 hours a day you're going to lose everything, and when you restart you're going to lose everything in a matter of days. Over the course of a week I've watched a mek wipe 150 wyverns in 10 minutes on an old island server, a mek wipe a massive tree base on rag in 5 mins, and the devs server wipe hundreds of tribes for no reason... How is this balanced? How is this fun?

ARK could've become one of the greatest games ever made, but instead it's an absolute mess that nobody is fixing anytime soon. Wildcard should honestly be ashamed of themselves for taking more money from a devoted fanbase without putting any effort into this game. NONE. This game was released on Steam over 3 years ago and is still in an embarassing state.

SAVE YOUR MONEY
THIS GAME IS BROKEN AF

Best zombie game I have ever played. Open world, weapon crafting, countless different enemies, lots of quests to keep busy and areas to explore, awesome combat, very cool and imersive parkour, driving, swimming... I love this game.

Honestly here's my advice... wait for 2K17 and hope for the best...
Or buy 2K15 for dirt cheap. At this point 2K16 isn't worth it.
Here's why:

-It's buggy... to put it simply, it has more performance problems than the previous year
-Commentators cut out randomly in games, music sometimes plays and sometimes doesn't, and honsetly... while I'm talking about music... the playlist is pretty weak at points
-The players respond to your actions and commands soooo slowly... you flick the stick right and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ curry responds like hes stuck in the mud or he's as quick as my 92 year old great grandmother.
-Btw I love the spin move. This game will make you dislike it, loathe it, hateeeee it because of how slowly it responds.
-Shot timing is considerably slower and harder to get used to then on a console
-2K added cool features for this year's game, but then cut tons of corners in places like arena design and other things
-The Spike Lee career mode story was cool, interesting to follow, sure, but I have two major problems. One: (nobody go and cry about this now it's a fact) the story mode is designed and intended only for a black audience. Typical Spike Lee ladies and gents. I understand exactly why he was chosen to do this, but cmon. There's a huge audience that gets the story mode ruined for them because it makes no sense at all. I've got a pastey white, blonde-haired girly boy point guard who has a ghetto twin sister and speaks like DMX taught him the language. Second major problem with the career mode: IT SKIPS THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROOKIE SEASON. Any player development, records, acheivements, personal accomplishments, forget it, all of it gets condensed into 8 unfulfilling games. The game lets you play 8 games of your rookie season while bouncing back and fourth between the games and the Spike Lee story. The Career mode is amazing after the stupid Spike Lee distraction is over. I ould have a much less sour opinion if it didn't bite a chunk out of the actual game...

I have yet to play an hour of this game... all my recorded hours are becase the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crashes and then in my steam library continues running... this only stops when I restart my computer. I have deleted the appcache folder, uninstalled the game, tried everything. The furthest I've got is to the graphics screen to change the resolution and adjust the game to fullscreen, but when I try to adjust it from windowed to fullscreen it crashes. It always crashes. I love Neverwinter and want to give this a shot, but it crashes, so ♥♥♥♥...

Perhaps my favourite game of all time. Immersive as a game gets. It's overly exciting because of it's access to social, military and political aspects. Unbelievably fun strategy game. And defintely the largest and most visually orgasmic battles you'll find in a strategy game. There are so many playable factions with unique units and unique pros and cons. So beware... this game may just absorb your soul.
