As someone who enjoyed the heist-filled adrenaline rush of Payday 2, it's with a heavy heart (and an even lighter wallet) that I dive into the latest installment of the series: Payday 3. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the game not only took a step back in time but also in content, quality, and sheer fun.

Firstly, let's talk about the arsenal, or should I say, the lack thereof. Payday 2's impressive array of weapons, mods, and masks that let us customize our criminal persona to our heart's content seems like a distant dream now. Payday 3 seems to have adopted a 'minimalism' approach, but unfortunately, this concept doesn't translate well into a game where variety and customization were key selling points. The reduced selection feels like going to a buffet only to find out it's now a diet clinic.

Next up, the heists - the bread and butter of Payday. Imagine my disappointment to find that the variety and complexity of heists have been trimmed down. It's like planning to rob Fort Knox but ending up with a piggy bank instead. The lack of heists makes the game feel like a series of missed opportunities, where you're left longing for the good old days of planning elaborate heists with your crew.

And let's not forget about the quality of life features, or rather, the absence of them. It seems the developers decided that what we really needed was a more 'authentic' experience by stripping away the conveniences we'd come to appreciate. It's like they gave us a getaway car with no wheels.

But the icing on this underbaked cake is the DLC. Priced at a whopping 50% of the base game, it's like being charged for a full meal and only getting appetizers. The DLC, which one might expect to address the glaring issues of the base game, instead seems to be in its own little world, blissfully unaware of the player base's cries.

In conclusion, Payday 3 feels like a heist gone wrong. It's a game that had the potential to be a worthy successor but ends up feeling like the crew forgot their masks, guns, and, most importantly, their brains at home. Here's hoping the next installment remembers what made Payday great in the first place - otherwise, it might just be time to retire from this life of crime.

Early Access Review
The recent update completely ruined the game.
I used to play Gunsling a lot, especially solo; now you can't take down anything thanks to the newly introduced resistance system.
So what once felt like good and rewarding gunplay (the biggest reason for me to play the game) is now a bullet spongy hell of sadness and pain.
Also enemies keep laggin around and so already hard enought to land headshots are almos impossible. So you have to hit them in the chest. Which in turn deals even less damage and I now can barely get though a round without killing the last few zeds with my meele weapon (epecially fun against bloats). Also resistances now make penetration nearly impossible -> also leads to needing more ammo. So you don't get rewarded as gunslinger to line up you shots and kill off 4-5 enemies at once. If anyone knows a game with a similar gun play as the onld kf2, please tell me. pls.

Edit: The resistances seem toned down a lot and I haven't experienced any lagging in recent times so I can recommend this again.
