Valve Index review:
It's a fun little shoot em up with satisfying enough gun-play, and if you like the type of (deadpan?) humor it's quite enjoyable.
Sometimes it does feel like hit detection is a bit wonky/off, but it's manageable or just a case of a gun not doing enough damage which took me a while to figure out.
The Index controls are not proper Index controls, but once you figure out the A button drops guns it's playable enough.

Yes I kickstarted this game under the impression "hey more SC2 co-op that's great!"
Ok so they overpromised but "I can still get some fun out of this"
How many co-op commanders now that are €10 each that were not included in the ultimate kickstarter tier or whatever that I purchased?....
SC2 ones at least were €5, why on earth are these €10 and not included in the packs?

Absolutely gorgeous ships that I was waiting for forever

It is HARD, think 90s no retry hard where you just send it hold arms up and smash your zeepkist into a frikandel!
No checkpoints, no braking.
Lose your speed and you done goofed.
This is HARD!
And then you finally get the run to clear a level made up of frikandel floating in the sky and you get one wrong bounce and you can start over!

The "being forced to pick a card" takes some getting used to coming from STS, but I managed to find some enjoyable playstyles regardless.
Keep in mind the fun took some unlocking and meta progressing for it to kick in.

Another must have by Alistair Lindsay that fits the expansion while keeping the style from the original and Royalty OST that I love.
I hope this means we'll get an OST for every future expansion again(and maybe the two missed ones?)

Make the game out of it that works for you.
Shadows which are not shown in a lot of footage also make it look a lot better.
I turned this deadly cannibalistic wasteland into an idle chill shopkeeper/mining game...and now I'm 82h in on a fresh restart to use the lessons I learned...to make a new shop...

Have a read on what kind of stuff the (main) developer pulled...

Go in blind, get it on sale and go in open without expectations and let it be to you what it unfolds it is to you.
To me it was worth the price on sale and it it captivated me in a way I enjoyed.

They are continuing to put out a steady stream of content, listening to the community and fleshing out the game in a solid way.
