To preface this will include spoilers. Just saying.

I have a kind of love/hate thing going with the following. Story wise, i feel like they took some shortcuts, and didn't make it as original as it could have been. A lot of the characters, if not all are forgettable and do not really drag you in or build any real bond to you, like some may have in the base game.....

Ezgi- Daughter of the chief you meet early on. Ends up only wanting to go to Harran then you hear from her a couple times.

Jasir- Nothing more than a quest giver.

Lena- Just a sound box telling you to hurry up.

Kaan- Main antagonist of the game? But as a character felt and was extremely weak. Killed by the men he led, who happened to be Rais' old gang. But had no real strong ties in the plot. He was someone i kept forgetting about til they showed him one other time before near the end of the game.

The Mother- She was fairly interesting, but could have been developed a bit more. You do learn bits as pieces about her before the end of the game and a bit more cleared up at the end.

Speaking of Kaan. One of the things I thought was extremely lazy in the plot was the fact the main bandits were yet again....Rais' old gang. During the end of the main game it was seemed that they were almost all wiped out and betrayed by Rais. It does not really explain how they stayed together with the main two leaders dead, why they were there, and why Kaan was leading them. It would have made more sense to have more of a local bandit group than reusing the one from the base game. Since one of the points early on was to get the water back, which had a convo with a local bandit leader, and fight. Instead of expanding on that, or changing it up a little, the main gang in the last game got reused.

I did however enjoy the new aspects to this game, such as traveling via a buggy. It had its pros/cons as well. Ranging from being fun to drive, easy to find parts to fix it up, and just adding a new element to the game for traveling. But it did have its quirks. It felt like it should have had more than just Crane's buggy that is operational, and instead had some bandits/and moments of fighting with others. Or at least more variation in vehicles for you to acquire. It can also be pretty easy to go the wrong way without a mini map and you end up feeling like parkour may be faster than going all the way around to fight the right route to your destination.

Overall however, I did give the dlc a pass since it was a fun, though abit forgettable adventure. the new elements kept me entertained enough to finish it, Though the lack of a solid story made me wish it had a bit more to offer.

Works great on WMR and is a good workout, while stuck inside due to covid. Game is fun, if you like boxing and makes you sweat if you keep playing it for awhile.

tldr; It is fun, but has quirks and bugs that need to be addressed.

In general, though most things are true to the classic version, dialogue and locations are pretty much the same, and it allows you to even use the classic style music over their remake version, which I was pleasantly surprised about. It makes it a nostalgia trip, which allows me to play the game on my 4k tv, in a prettier way than my snes version. Though I can chromecast my android version, and might eventually.

Combat is very similar to the original, same hit, run, wait, hit style. Which I like, I am glad they didn't overturn it and change it to something it wasn't. The main problem with it though is AI pathing is the same as it was in the SNES game. Your allies will get stuck on walls and every obstacle in their way and will not go around to attack an enemy. As it is now they follow you and attack after you do, and will continue till the enemy is dead or you guys run off.

Suffice to say though, there are some bugs and a few things that bugged me a bit. I have had 2 crashes so far, but luckily the game saves at important areas, so I don't lose too much progress if I forget to save in time. I also noticed that it doesn't do the same animation when you launch out of the cannon as it did in the original. Where it shoots you above and you see the world map a bit, then fall back down into the area you wish to go. Now you just kinda land in the area. It's fine, but a minor detail I would have liked since they tried to recraft the world to the extent they have.

Minimaps are cool since it uses textures that look like they ripped it out of the SNES game to recreate. So even though you are playing with the new graphics, you still get to see the old ones in the form of a minimap to guide you along. They did also add a guide that gives you an idea of where you are in the story and what to do next, which helps a lot especially for people who didn't play the games where it was you get a quest, take a break, forget, and then wander around for hours trying to find where you left off.

So I do hope they add some patches to fix some things soon, but at the moment I am having fun reliving one of my favorite snes games.

Got it on sale for like $1.

Fun little game, but if you don't want to pay just go to the website instead. Steam version is more a convenience than anything. Yes, you get some crap for buying it, but it isn't needed. If you play it regularly you can get any of the things in game you wish anyhow. Takes awhile, but what doesn't.

Game is fun, town usually sucks, most fun I had was winning as SK Donald Trump.

Early Access Review
Fun game, more fun if you have friend though.....WIll be better when/if they impliment VOIP, since text based communication sucks in comparison. Hate VGS systems, but some people like them.

One thing to note though, is I do thing the game could use more modes. The two current ones are too closely connected that I do not really feel the need to play the other. It is either you fight for the objective, or you have turns pushing it around. Meh.

There is also a cap on the FPS for 150 if you care, you can turn that off via setting file, but not in game. Not a big issue since 150 is plenty fine.

Nice game.....BUT it is riddled with bugs, even now.

Gameplay is a fun action game, which as everyone explains, and it is the best way to put it, you are essentially a space ninja. With friends it can be a lot a of fun, and be a good time waster, but alone it can get repetitive fairly quick. At first glance it seems like the game has a lot of areas to explore, the truth is a lot of them are recycled, much in the way it was in Dragon Age 2 (If people remember that annoyance).

As for the bugs, there are A LOT, and some are even game breaking, such as; Melee randomly stop working on both keyboard and controller (I had this happen multiple times), Chat locking up and making you unable to access any of the menus, If an alert ends while you're in the mission sometimes doors won't function, Clipping issues with some parts of the map (Fell through and above the map several times), a huge lag issue with pvp mode (both sides said everyone was telephoning around). And last but not least, not a bug but just a pain....No way to get rid of unwanted Kubrows beyond killing them off, which takes 10 days, and shouldn't have to come to that or being forced to buy another slot. It is just a waste.

The game is fun. I will give it that, it isn't nearly as fun as dungeon fighter was for me, but since nexon as a company sucks, you take what you can get. It is not to put this game down, it is a good game, it has a fluid combat and a lot of enemies to bash through each level. It just lacks the charm that DF had. But as it is still "new" (3 years is still new in comparison) it still has a lot of wiggle room to make up and improve and I hope to see it do that.

It is a like a quirky version of GTA but with co-op, which is the main draw. The co-op aspects makes the game a lot of fun and well worth the play-through with a friend. It is also a vast upgrade from the previous installment, with a lot of "what?" moments, and pretty nice graphics that don't weigh heavy on your system. Could still use some tweaks, but still a fun game.

The game is fairly linear, which is a downer with all of these open world games we have now. It is also fairly short, running about 8 hours if you don't blitz through every level. Voice recognition is horrible, don't use it. Other than those quirks the game is very enjoyable and was worth the buy/playthrough. Fans of games like Mass Effect will enjoy it.
