I bought it on sale because I thought "I like Guardians of the Galaxy and wouldn't mind a fun feel good story"
After 5 hours I just completely lost interest. It's very linear and if it takes over 5 hours for the game to open up, then i have no interest. Story seemed good and the characters are fun, and I love listening to them banter, but it was the combat that made me lose interest. It's just so boring. It's team management but done in such a dull way. The game feels like a slightly interactive movie. It's definitely made for console and it plays well on the steam deck, so if I'm very bored some day in bed I might revisit it, but it's unlikely. I just have no urge to install it and play on my PC

So far I love it. I was sold the second a marine got injured from acid burns while I was retreating to the ARC (Smaller APC) and was limping behind. She got swarmed and dragged back down the corridor by a xenomorph. I tried to save her but couldn't had to leg it the whole way back with a horde on my ass and barely got out. Just like my favourite scene in Aliens :)

They added slow motion and tactical pause to skirmish mode. I now love this game :)
Plus you can once again save your skirmish replays, a feature homeworld has been missing since HW1

I wouldn't pay full price for the game though, only if it was on sale

Just know going into this game... hacking is commonplace and seems to be accepted/expected. I have literally sat there spectating players as they follow people through walls, get head shots aiming at feet, and turn 180 like a bot on steroids. A lot of Russian players so hacking is to be expected i guess. I remembered pretty quickly why i stopped playing Counter Strike a long time ago.

One thing i will say, it's a great trainer for reflexes in other FPS games.

I'm loving this game. Its a perfect mix between Fallout and Mass effect. I don't get all the bad reviews. It's a solid game.

One thing i have noticed that brings it down a bit is how PC/PG13 it is. Even when you meet a hardened thug and they threaten you, it comes off as "grrrr hey there mister, i'm not at all happy with you, but gosh darn! you make a good point, so I'll do what you say". I sometimes feel like this games dialogue was written by a 12 year old who did their best to portray what they think a tough guy should sound like, but really have no idea because they've been sheltered their entire life." As annoying as this is, i still love this game. It's an adventure, and that's all i wanted.

I've logged 306 hours so far and i'm still hooked. I find some of the negative reviews amusing, gamers really are spoiled rotten these days.

• Tons of planets to land on. you can land anywhere you want
• You can create outposts
• You can recruit a crew
• They all have backstories
• So many side quests I can't keep track of them all
• I can customise my ship, walk around it and use it as a portable base
• Zero G fights
• Boarding ships, killing the crew and stealing their ride to use, strip for parts, or sell

I mean whats not to love about this game. I'm loving it.

Early Access Review
Had great fun with this game, it was a great co-op horde game. Everyone was hyped, spitting out Starship Troopers quotes left right and centre. Blowing the crap out out of Arachnids. Then after leaving it for a month I came back and it was all dead.

I guess the game play was too repetitive, servers are dead now and you spend most of your time in lobby looking for a match.

If you are looking for the Harry Potter experience you won't really find it here. If you want a casual gaming experience set in the Harry Potter universe with an open world that has tons of side quests, stuff to unlock, fun battles, exploration and fun puzzles then you'll enjoy it. They nailed the feeling of the Harry potter wizarding world, with lots of lore etc. They don't seem to have many penalties for using Dark Magic though.

Most of the game takes place outside of Hogwarts, but there are loads of secrets and puzzles in the school itself so you do spend a lot of time there. The Castle looks amazing too. I'm having great fun playing this. Its also great on the Steamdeck. If you like Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, you'll enjoy this. Just don't expect the Hogwarts school going experience. Definitely get it if its on sale.

My biggest issue with this game is that you can't play Quidditch, but other than that I love it.

Not bad for €0.81. got 7 jours of fun out of it. Wouldn't go back to it because of the style though. There is something very depressing and soviet about it. can't go wrong for €0.81 though

This game is very enjoyable. It's basically Left4Dead with...

• Bigger hordes
• Much better graphics
• A lot more levels to play through
• Way more characters
• Customisation and leveling up
• Cooler maps
• More satisfying guns
• Crossplay

It's an extremely linear game, but this game is all about blowing the crap out of hordes and looking out for your team, which it does extremely well. There is a horde mode with one map, a campaign with public co-op, private co-op and solo modes. It's an excellent pick up and play game. I highly recommend it if you were a Left4Dead and Left4Dead 2 fan. The game has a small enough community but you generally get one or two people who join your public game during the mission. Community seems decent enough too.
