Early Access Review
Palworld has thoroughly enthralled me.

Without exaggeration, it doesn't make sense how fun this game is. At its core, the game is remarkably simple; Catch pals, upgrade your base, make stronger weapons and armor to catch tougher pals, rinse and repeat. And yet, this simple gameplay loop is highly addictive. In two days, I had put in ten hours of gameplay.

To the detractors of the game, I have some thoughts. When people say that the pals plagiarize Pokémon, I personally feel that the game closer aligns with parody than idea theft. Either way, I have a hard time mustering up sympathy for a multi-billion dollar company that owns the most profitable media property to ever exist. As for the other point, that the CEO supports AI, I feel the need to point out that it is the CEO, not the developers of the game. There are many companies where the CEO has terrible ideas and the game remains untouched.

All in all, a thoroughly captivating (no pun intended) experience that I cannot recommend highly enough. 9 out of 10.

Walkabout Mini Golf is, without exaggeration, my favorite video game.

It's a truly excellent mini-golf simulation, with the addition of courses that would be impossible in real life. There's a course that takes up an entire castle, and several that are whole islands dedicated to just mini-golf. The DLC courses are incredible as well. My favorite course is probably 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which is a new addition. Also, the hidden balls and putters give the game more replay value, and add an extra layer of competition in multiplayer.

One thing the game doesn't explicitly say is that there are multiple locomotion types. If you go into the settings menu, you can switch from smooth walking and turning to teleportation and comfort turning. Also, by pointing your putter directly upward and holding forward on your control stick, you can fly, which makes it easier to find hidden balls.

This game is absolutely essential if you don't have it already, and it makes the purchase of a VR headset worth it nearly singlehandedly.

My one critique is the goblin in the Labyrinth course is scary

Every time I come across a turtle, there is a message next to it that says either "don't you dare!", "dog", or "could this be a horse?"

11/10.
