1 hour into the game, got bit by a nope rope. I go to inspect my wound, and while inspecting it I get mauled by a Jaguar.

10/10, would get turned into kitty food again :D

I've been playing this game off and on since mid 2017. The game is quite fun especially for those who like to design and conceptualize ideas. I've designed ships, mines, stations, outposts, and more. I usually take breaks of up to 4-6 months between either due to life obligations or I just burn myself out.

Over the years it has improved quite a lot, from when they moved threading to a different core/cpu to reduce bottlenecking on servers, to the DX11 update. Over time it has gotten better but it feels like the one area we have been wishing to finally get attention has been constantly getting pushed back. That area is NPCs.

Since 2020, they brought in the new factions which gives us Stations to do trade and earn credits with missions. This allows us to buy items and complete contracts. That being said, since their team has been working on an AI engine, we haven't heard much in the way of their promise, and that was for new AI/NPCs to populate stations, enemy ships, and more.

I am hoping that by Summer of 2022 we finally see them put those in, as that is really what has been making people take long breaks is that a huge aspect of game play including the new Warfare DLC are gun combat, and we don't really have anything to engage besides other players. When the NPC's are finally updated to include something other than spiders and wolves, that's when we will see a lot more interaction and far more people come to the game.
