The Last Starship isn't the same kind of Early Access game as you get from big publishers. It's much earlier in the development process and there is a long road ahead. That said, the game is a ton of fun if you enjoy engineering, exploring, and being part of the Early Access experience.

Introversion did this with their last game, Prison Architect, which improved significantly between the beginning and end of Early Access. They added massive amounts of features and the game was updated with new content for several years. I see a ton of potential for that to happen with The Last Starship, too.
