Thirty years have passed since that cursed day when Ayrton had his accident on the Imola track.

Inside the Tamburello curve each year, there continue to be thousands of people who pay tribute by leaving a flag, a photo or even just a thought.

Gone but never forgotten, forever in our hearts <3. Thank you Codemasters for this tribute

“That made him very very special and that’s why we are still talking about it today, which is unbelievable.”

Stop Destroying Videogames

European Citizens' Initiative :

Video games have grown into an industry with billions of customers worth hundreds of billions of euros. During this time, a specific business practice in the industry has been slowly emerging that is not only an assault on basic consumer rights but is destroying the medium itself.

An increasing number of publishers are selling video games that are required to connect through the internet to the game publisher, or "phone home" to function. While this is not a problem in itself, when support ends for these types of games, very often publishers simply sever the connection necessary for the game to function, proceed to destroy all working copies of the game, and implement extensive measures to prevent the customer from repairing the game in any way.

This practice is effectively robbing customers of their purchases and makes restoration impossible. Besides being an affront on consumer rights, video games themselves are unique creative works. Like film, or music, one cannot be simply substituted with another. By destroying them, it represents a creative loss for everyone involved and erases history in ways not possible in other mediums.

Existing laws and consumer agencies are ill-prepared to protect customers against this practice. The ability for a company to destroy an item it has already sold to the customer long after the fact is not something that normally occurs in other industries. With license agreements required to simply run the game, many existing consumer protections are circumvented. This practice challenges the concept of ownership itself, where the customer is left with nothing after "buying" a game.

We wish to invoke Article 17 §1 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union [EUR-Lex - 12012P/TXT - EN - EUR-Lex (europa.eu)] – “No one may be deprived of his or her possessions, except in the public interest and in the cases and under the conditions provided for by law, subject to fair compensation being paid in good time for their loss.” – This practice deprives European citizens of their property by making it so that they lose access to their product an indeterminate/arbitrary amount of time after the point of sale. We wish to see this remedied, at the core of this Initiative.

We also invoke Title XV of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU)[EUR-Lex - 12012E/TXT - EN - EUR-Lex (europa.eu)] and the following TFEU Articles as our justification for and the Union’s imperative to respond to this initiative:

Article 169 – Per §1, the EU has an obligation “to promote the interests of consumers and to ensure a high level of consumer protection…to protecting the health, safety and economic interests of consumers”. We believe this practice infringes upon or requires correction to be commensurate with the EU’s obligation. The actions taken in response to this initiative must supersede any end user license agreements associated with videogames.

Article 12 – “Consumer protection requirements shall be taken into account in defining and implementing other Union policies and activities.” Given that this practice extends across Member States and beyond the EU, the Union’s actions regarding this practice ought to keep consumer protection in mind. The actions taken in response to this initiative must supersede any end user license agreements associated with video games.

Article 114, §3 – “The Commission, in its proposals envisaged in paragraph 1 concerning health, safety, environmental protection and consumer protection, will take as a base a high level of protection… Within their respective powers, the European Parliament and the Council will also seek to achieve this objective” This practice undermines the high level of consumer protection that the Commission, the European Parliament, and the Council takes as the basis of law in the Union, and their objectives of establishing and maintaining the functioning of an internal market as described in §1 of this Article, and Article 26 TFEU.

This game is meant to be played with friends, but as someone with schizophrenia, I find it even more fun. 10/10, as all of my inner personalities can now play at once.

Looking to get scammed? You are in the right place :)

I know I played only half an hour but it's enough to tell you a lot of things! First of all, yes it's (indeed) a racing game but you should know that it does NOT supports :

-> Any racing wheel[/b] (I spent 30m trying to configure my G923 Trueforce and it's unplayable)
-> So I gave the game a second chance and plugged my controller, a DualSense (At this point I still had hope for the game)
-> Unrecognised controller: OK let's use DS4Windows so. (I had a lot of faith and still.)
-> Okay It works! But a message is CONSTANTLY on the screen telling me that my controller is not supported (because the game detects the direct input from the DualSense AND the emulated 360 controller from DS4Windows) In conclusion I can play the game with a huge text box in the middle of the screen or without ATH. 🤡
-> So the only option left is that I am forced to play a RACING GAME with a keyboard and a mouse??? Hello??? Don't you find something wrong in the sentence???

BONUS NEGATIVE POINTS (if it's not enough for you) :

-> You can set the game to fullscreen but EVERY SINGLE TIME you will press ALT+TAB the game will turn into windowed, and you will be forced to go into the settings to set it back to fullscreen... And before you ask, no, ALT+ENTER doesn't work. I wonder if the devs tried to boot their game even one single time...
-> And when you go into the settings you will see a little option you have to set, "Do you want your max FPS to be 30 or 60?" Hello? Is it 2013? Why do FPS caps still exist when we have RTX???

So yeah, this game is without any doubt a huge scam. If someone gifted it to you I think you can remove it from your friend list without any regrets.
And yet this WONDERFUL SH!T game still cost 30€.

So as I am a very good person I'll now give you a lot of examples of a good way to spend 30€ or 30$ (almost the same plz be nice Americans <3)

  1. Going to the cinema. (You can even go twice for that price.)
  2. Eating in a good restaurant.
  3. Giving to charity.
  4. Buying a present for your mom or your dad.
  5. Playing bowling with your friends.
  6. Taking a very cheap flight (yes, some flights can be booked for less than 30 bucks)
  7. Ordering two or even three huge pizzas.
  8. Visiting a museum or art gallery.
  9. Trying out a new hobby like painting, knitting, or gardening. (buying basic supplies)
  10. Renting a movie and having a movie night at home with friends or family.
  11. Attending a local theater performance or comedy show.
  12. Taking a yoga or fitness class.
  13. Renting bicycles for a day to explore your city or a nearby area.
  14. Going to a local zoo or aquarium.
  15. Taking a ferry ride to a nearby island or coastal town (if you live near the sea/ocean otherwise it doesn't make sense lol)
  16. Buying a new indoor plant to brighten up your living space.
  17. Renting a kayak or paddleboard for a few hours on a nearby lake or river.
  18. Taking a guided walking tour of your city or a historical area.

Okay so I'm out of ideas, I hope this review helped you a bit and made you smile or even laugh. I wish you a really good day and if you're still interested in this game. You can buy it, see how bad it is, and then ask for a refund. But be careful! You have to play it for less than 2 hours and ask for a refund less than 14 days after the purchase. Hope this might help, see you soon on the internet <3

Conclusion : Un Classique Intemporel

I spent arond 50$ on this game, it might not seems to be a lot for some people, but it is for me. And now everything is gone, with no refund available. I understand my money was used into the game to make it threw the years but I just wish I could enjoy this game in offline. I know it's possible because we used to be able to play in bot lobbys. I'm just feeling like the studio broke into my house and stole a game from my bookshelf. I respect why you decided to end this game, I'm just sad that you destroyed everything you made...
