Early Access Review
Killed someone with a shovel,
Their head fell off,
I picked up their head to get a good look at what horrible act of violence I just committed,
And then I pissed on the body.

So that's how my day's going.

It's basically more half life but without the gravity gun, Meaning the same old shooting, the same mechanics. For me it's neither good nor bad.

PROS:
-More half life!
-Finally something that expands upon Shepard's story

CONS:
-the lights are pretty but a lot of the beginning is very, VERY dark.
-Some restraint with hunters and small areas please.
-The price range is a little too high.
-The viewmodel is a retextured HEV Mark V suit, the orange parts are black (even though that was something that was supposed to be a thing in half life 2 when you look at the HEV world model valve pls fix.) even though Shepard never had one to my knowledge, neither picked it up, especially since the Mark V system was made in half life 2.
-Also I get fancy intro sequences, but it's a bit dumb that the crowbar suddenly gives us the ability to see our health, suit charge, and use our flashlist, Speaking of crowbars..
-Barney and Gordon used crowbars in the half life 1 game / expansion pack, Shepard's "Iconic" melee should've been the wrench and the knife.
-The Gman and Vortigaunts don't get along well in the base game, So they shouldn't be working together in this mod
-What about that black forest thing? it's almost 2020. Someone fill me up on this one

I get it if the dev couldn't model these or port them from other source engine games, but here is why he shouldn't have cut those corners: This costs money.

Aside from nit-picking that comes with a review: Is it worth 10 bucks? well like everyone says no but when it's on sale it's something I heavily recommend giving a shot.

Transmissions: Element 120 is an extremely short mod for half life 2 featuring everyone's favorite scientist Gordon Freeman, however..
The mod has so much interesting things going on and has many interesting mechanics. Some of which have a few problems. Here are a few examples under a spoiler tag so nobody gets spoiled.
-The new gravity defying weapon
-The writings you could only see by shining your flashlight on them then turning your flashlight off
-Things not being able to see you in the dark (this however has been severely misused on turrets since they use censors, not vision

Having many interesting mechanics and visuals making me wonder what was up next made me really disappointed after seeing that after getting the gravity defying weapon, it all kind of goes downhill as it pulls off some of the lamest things done in video games. Like throwing a giant horde of zombies at you for the sake of having a combat sequence before you can progress with the story, it felt like it was made as long as it was for the sake of getting more playtime out of it. Also the QR codes are ok I guess, and an original addition, but I didn't really care for it.

I did not finish the game, mainly because when I started playing the final chapter my game crashed near the end, I ended up looking up what happens next as, turns out that after you kill a few of the most annoying synths in half life 2, striders, the game ends, also I hate striders and how half life 2 threw too much of them at you at once, which this game does as well, it's not because half life 2 had it that you should make the same mistake of setting multiple high DPS rocket sponges, there's a reason why you fought no more than 1 strider at a time in episode 1.

Overall this game feels like a concept test with a bad ending slapped onto it, but that doesn't mean that the game is bad, this is a review, of course I will be kind of nit-picky when it comes to it. I'd say give it a shot but don't keep your expectations too high, that way you'll have the most fun out of it.

When playing this I forgot this was a free mod.

Here we play as a Metro Cop named bad cop, an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to say the least. There's no question if you're a good or bad guy like in opposing force, no, here it's clear, you're one evil bastard. Shoot your way out of city 10 and don't die in the abandoned hell hole that is City 10, The mod ever so slightly changes up so graphics and sounds yet you still feel like you're playing half life and you truly feel like you're a CP unit. The mod gives bad cop his own character by the use of voice lines, and making him comment on the situation. A half life game or mod needs to make sure that the character you play as is a vessel to you or is interesting enough to play as, and boy let me tell you this game makes bad cop an insanely good character.

Very curious to see how EZ 2 will turn out on release.

I won't go in on what half life is because you most likely already know.

While the game isn't really up to standards with more modern games that my PC can't run anyway it's important to know that a year before that we had games with graphics like postal 2. No accurate lip syncing and the in-game models being kinda poor with minimal lighting and almost no details like the brightness of light changing after you got out of a dark area, the way you perceive light in real life copied in a video game, People in 2004 lost their sh*t over the changes half life 2 made, it's also interesting to see how much power we, the player, are given with the gravity gun, yes you can move objects and chuck them at people for an insta-kill yet it never felt too overpowered, the depth of the lore is amazing to the point where no matter how many NPCs tell you or show you, you'll never get all the lore in one playthrough. The source engine and half life 2 it'self might be heavily outdated in modern standards it's still amazing how the game still is fun and still looks good in this day and age, just not "beautiful" as it used to be, things that are now minor details in games started off here.

Warning: Spoilers

Dishonored 2 is obviously the sequel to Dishonored. The game overall is pretty damn good although there are still some things left, when using far reach I clipped through the floor however that has happened only once to me, and the same bug still exists in dishonored 1.

AI
the AI is decent, although just like dishonored 1 it has it's dumb moments, and the AI is easy to exploit, in some ways this does make the game more fun though. While I really liked Ashworth's AI, and the few things like her immunity to bullets / bolts, and her instant reaction to blinking / using far reach to her + immunity to some of the powers and weapons, it is dissapointing that her bonecharm effects stop working after you take her powers away even when you anger her post-power loss, for a beginner this battle would be kinda difficult but surely fun! Delilah's battle although her having an insta-kill attack, was dissapointing as she dies in one hit to a spring razor

Story
My god the story is great and I'd say better than Dishonored 1. Depending on your chaos level the game changes tone, and some things are different, some minor things but some pretty major things as well, little details here and there, to whether an area is infested with bloodflies or not, although I really would've liked another 1 or 2 targets to assassinate / dispose of / rescue, or maybe something like the flooded district from dishonored 1.

Target assassinations
This game, just like Dishonored 1, has special animations for targets, although sometimes it bugs out and the animation doesn't show, and instead the stealth assassination plays, although there are some errors in these animations, they're really great and fun to watch, ontop of that the personality really shows as Emily / Corvo cuts their throat or shoves a sword in them.

Overall I give this game a 9.5/10. Well done!

The main reason people bought audiosurf 2 was because they didn't need to download the MP3 files anymore, however that's gone now..

Searching for an alternative or not, it would've been helpfull if we got to know WHY it's gone, so a solution could be found much faster, but instead we know nothing.. thank god I could still refund this.. If you want a game that's almost as good at this one, go play the first Audiosurf..

Extremely short.. And sadly: the final task is a reality for some.

Don't play this if you're extremely sensitive to things like anxiety, depression or suicide.
