In Slime Rancher you play as Samus Aran who has finally decided to retire from bounty hunting and pursue a less stressful lifestyle. She buys a small "Slime Ranch" on a distant planet in the hopes of putting her arm cannon skills to better use, but when she arrives on the Far Far Ranch things aren't as cheery as they seem....

In all seriousness I can't reccomend this game enough. It's packed full of neat little mechanics that make the game suprisingly in-depth despite the extremely chill and zen-like gameplay loop. You might start off with just a few small pink slimes, but soon enough you'll be cross breeding slimes, which is actually a fantastic mechanic.

Since every slime produces different valued "plorts" (basically just poop) and likes different kinds of food you can kind of go wild. Just be sure not to get too bold as some species combos can be pretty dangerous. An example of this system is mixing pink slimes with any other species: since pink slimes have eat anything if you mix them with, say, a meat eating species you can now feed it any type of food. However since pink slimes have no "favorite" food and they produce nearly worthless plorts you'll often find good combos that balance ease of feeding, plort value, and safety. But that's only a small portion of this game!

I do have a few small complaints. Mainly, if you want more slimes you have to get them in the wild and since slimes tend to combine pretty rapidly it can be a tad bit frustrating to find enough of the right species to fill your corrals. A feature to grow a new batch of slimes from plorts would be really cool. Also, the "puzzles" and progression of the game is bland, but it's not like this is a puzzle game. You mainly progress by just gathering enough food of a specific type to feed an absolutely massive slime, which then explodes for some reason giving you a key to access a new area. At least you can kind of unlock in different orders, you're not forced to go anywhere in specific. Everything else I don't like is just really minor stuff like how once you unlock automated drones they are capped at 2 per each area which is not enough to do all of the tasks but that's no big deal compared to everything amazing about this game.

Overall, just buy this damn game if you even kind of like the look of it. It's insanely cute, insanely chill and a great de-stress game to just spend hours in.

This game is, honestly, tons of fun. However, the playerbase is very small, and that won't change unless people play it. So if you are on the fence about Sky Noon, or don't want to buy it because of the small playerbase, remember: The game won't get more players unless people buy it.

I wrote and earlier review for Ratz Instagib, but I felt it was too praising. This review is not gonna be purely about how utterly fantastic this game is.

Ratz Instagib is a simple FPS. You are a rat, with a railgun. The railgun fires shots with no travel time that insta-kill no matter where you hit. You also have a secondary fire that acts like a rocket jump and launches you away from whatever surface you fire it on. You can also unlock cosmetics and their is a rating system.

But Ratz Instagib isn't that simple. Other than rocket jumping, you can bunny hop for mobility and the main key to this game IS mobility. Trying to hit a fast moving Rat across the room with an extremely precise railgun is both hard and rewarding. The gameplay is simple, but it certainly ain't easy.

The rating system in Ratz Instagib is pretty much cosmetic. Matchmaking puts everyone in one big pool regardless of rating. This means as a new player, you will fail a lot and you will fail for a long time. As of the time of me writing this, I'm lucky to get 5 kills in a game where the limit is 30.

Not only is it hard to win, it can be hard to even find a match to play in. Since the game is in early acess, new players are rare especially considering the hefty price tag. And as mentioned above, even if you do find a match you have a good chance of finding someone twenty times better than you. This problem with a lack of games is likely due to the $9 price tag. Nine dollars is just too much for only a handful of maps and only a few unlockable cosmetics (tho the "wheel of hats" sure is addicting). I'm sure Ratz would be only greater with a lower price tag.

But despite the problems with Ratz Instagib, the game is awesome. And if you buy it, you'll be one more person in the queue and the developer will have 9 more dollars to make this awesome game just more awesome. And Ratz's huge issues will be steamrolled out over time as more players come in, hopefully enough to warrant better matchmaking. So yeah, I think you should buy Ratz Instagib (especially if you snag it for less) because of its simple yet totally skill based gameplay that is totally worth all nine dollars.
