It's alright, but very very short, so just know that before buying it. I assumed I was getting to the end of a first act with a boss encounter, when that's basically it. I had 10/12 cats, don't feel like hunting for the last two. I don't normally complain about games being too short, but this was too short. :(

I can not recommend this game. Even after the patch it just doesn't feel or play right. It's hard to pin point, but after fighting most of the bosses, almost none of them have 'felt' rewarding. Another big 'sin' for me is that some enemies will have windup animations and then instantly flip directions to land a hit, which defeats the deliberate bait and dodge feel of a souls game and looks broken every time the knight creatures do it. It also feels like there is a lot of cut or missing content, with some of the bosses being completely optional and pointless like the gaian. I've played all the dark souls games, bloodbourne, and even Salt and Sanctuary which I like and feel like got the 'feel' of a souls game right, and this one just misses most of the marks. On the plus side..it's pretty.

Not worth $20, especially in a year that brought us Hollow Knight and Dead Cells for a cheaper price point. The story feels rushed and unfinished and the ending comes out of nowhere, which is a shame because it plays very well and they obviously put a lot of effort getting the game to look, sound, and play better than the first. It feels like they had to cut a lot to get it out the door, to me. Wait for a steam sale, definitely worth $10.

I simply can not recommend this game for $60. I was a huge fan of DEHR, love the variety of environments and twists in the story telling, and DEMD is several steps back in both. The art is fantastic, but if you liked the jet setting and story of the first one, then be prepared to be disappointed.

Wait until it's on sale, at least 50%.
