While its a short game, its absolutely beautiful. I bought it on a whim because I wanted a fun puzzle game. When the story came together at the end, I cried like a baby.

While the game should probably have a trigger warning in the beginning, I understand why it didn't.

10/10, but I will never play this again.

Early Access Review
So I don't know if my game is hopelessly bugged or if this game is just meant to be incredibly hard. I got stuck in the tutorial when the person meant to give me my uniform, just... didn't. I had to break down a door using my laser pistol to proceed. No big deal, it's alpha that kind of this is expected. Surely I can just buy more ammo after the tutorial, right?

Haha ♥♥♥♥ no. You end up getting sent on a mission ASAP and there are no vendors in sight. The first place I get sent to has a SINGLE level 5 enemy while I am level 2. This thing kills me 5 times before I figure out I can bug him out and get the quest item without killing him. Still, with no ammo for my laser pistol, I complete the first zone of the first mission and head towards the second. In the next zone (im still level 2) everyone is either level 5 or 6. The automated defense turrets 2 shot me. Zombies 1 shot me. My accomplice bleeds out in front of me. I have no ammo, no health packs, no melee skills to punch things with. This was a total ♥♥♥♥ show. Essentially the game becomes an extremely difficult stealth game at this point where you just die and reload until you can progress.

Later I find an exo suit, some new guns and finally some ammo. I think I am finally making progress (still level 2 though). WRONG I walk into a room with 3 turrets, none of them are firing on me but I am in combat with all of them. I try shooting them but run out of ammo before the 1st one dies. I try punching them but I only have a 16% chance to hit for 1 damage (they have 30 life I think?!). I sat there clicking for 20 minutes to kill 2 turrets with Twitch open in another browser just so I could progress the game. As soon as I kill the 3rd turret, the game freezes and I crash to desktop. I check the saved game, and its at the beginning of the combat with the 3 turrets.

Brutal

All in all, the concept looks fun and the game play systems are enjoyable, but there is a serious lack of polish (expected) and a serious difficulty curve (unexpected) that is just not cool. Essentially you are expected to craft your own resources primarily, and barter when you 'get to town' whenever that is. In the beginning, there is no bartering and there most certainly isn't enough resources to craft the ammo you will need. I dont think it was intentional that the enemies were all level 5/6 while I was level 2, but there was nothing I could do about it but run, hide or die.

Save your money unless you want to support the unfinished project. This one needs to go back into the oven for a few patches.

Just finished this game!

I like to break things down by cost per hour. This game gave me 34 hours of enjoyment for 15 USD, thats about 2.25 hours of fun per hour. But before you think, 'oh hell yea, thats a bargain!' Consider that about 8 of those 34 hours were rebuilding my crew because i had no idea how important it is to make sure your guys stay alive.

If your whole plane goes down on tier 7 missions, then your given a t6 plane with t2 crew. It takes a LONG time to get their exp back up to where it should be. Other than that, this was a great game. I am already imagining an expansion where you play as a spitfighter squadron and have to manage multiple single seaters are a time...

Its actually a complex game if you set the battles to Chaos Mode, but the overworld you fight over is kind of useless. Buying items for your wizard persists through battles but they dont seem to impact the game all that much. Also, Undead units are some OP ♥♥♥♥.
