Very few pieces of media can make me tear up. This was an experience captured. Afford yourself 15 minutes of your time alive, shut out the external world and soak this up.

NewZ is a rework of the WarZ source code that was leaked a few years ago on the internet. Basically after the code was leaked multiple emulators started communities but were sent Cease and Decist letters from Sergey, the lead developer of WarZ. Since NewZ had the highest population Sergey decided to force the NewZ developers to either sign a contract with him to license The WarZ or get sued. This is how NewZ became official and was released on Steam.

The core PvP gameplay is solid which is why so many people keep coming back to this title every time it is revamped. If you enjoy team based tactical shooters there is something here that is very hard to find in other games. A large reason the gunplay is fun is because of both the wide variety of weapons to use and the bullet physics, similar to arma which includes bullet drop and sway. If you find a good group of players than this game can be alot of fun in PvP. With that said . . .

This game crashes every 15 minutes and I mean literally every 15 minutes. This results in death and losing gear continually from both zombies and players who have not crashed yet. The developers will not refund any loot you lose due to thier game crashing, which includes cars that also cause crashing non stop. The spawns are absolutely terrible and I have a strong feeling the developers keep it this way as a loot funnel to cause players to keep buying items from the marketplace. Each town has about 2-3 primary spawn points that are shared with the entire server. You will continually spawn on top of someone else and because of the 10 second spawn protection whoever joins in first will basically be killed since the other player gets to fire first and you can not hurt them until they fire and lose protection. Entire teams of players will also sit and camp these known spawnpoints with sniper rifles since the spawns are static and not randomized. A majority of the PvP in this game takes place around the spawnpoints and not inside the actual towns at all. The PvP match servers are a nightmare. Imagine CS:GO if each team spawned on top of each other at the start of the match. It is that bad. The developers are still in high school which in of itself may not be a bad thing in relation to someone like Nelson, the developer of Unturned, but here it really shows how amateur the NewZ development team is at basic business sense and customer care. Both the developers and moderators will continually lie and provide false information as to why thier game is not the problem when you have these crashes or bugs. It should also be noted that top streamers of this game on twitch are publicly found to use exploits in PvP with video proof but are never banned since they provide free press for NewZ, meanwhile players who do not stream will be banned for the exact same actions without any reversal. There is a huge elitist mentality when it comes to who "gets away" with what in this game.

Overall The NewZ could be a great game but the developers just fall into the same old nonsense that Sergey Titov would sling. It is kind of amusing to think that players like myself prayed for this title to be passed on from Sergey to another developer to fix it and after passing hands twice from ISS:World devs to now NewZ devs the game is still in the exact same broken state it was years ago, just with a new paint job. I would higly suggest doing some google research into both the developer of The NewZ and The WarZ before spending ANY money on this title in support of them.
