This game is beautiful. I don't know if it's 15 bucks beautiful, but it's beautiful nonetheless. Most definitely a must-grab during a sale.

I'd like to open by saying that I fully understand that the game is in Early Access. Nevertheless, I'll give my thoughts for the state of the game at the time of this review's submission, and update it in the future as the game continues development.

If you can't be arsed to read, here's a TL;DR:

- Lack of tutorial

Now to dive in a little more. I've been following the development of Manor Lords for several years, and also participated in the public playtest demo that happened back in 2022. Finally getting to play it today has been a blast, and is something that I have been looking forward to ever since the release date was announced.

I was pleased to see that the game had no major gaping flaws of any sort from the get-go. The gameplay was enjoying, and things had greatly improved since the demo. That being said, I did have a few issues that I am sure will be addressed, but wanted to mention myself as well. The two biggest ones are the lack of a tutorial, and the combat system.

The lack of a tutorial might be something that will be resolved in the future, but for now, there is no friendly way of getting started if you have no idea what to do without randomly trying things out to get the little hint window (which only appears once afaik), checking the help screen, or asking the community. Something more organic like an in-game advisor of sorts showing you the ropes and holding your hand a little more, at least for your first game, would be the best option here, I think.

Now, as for the combat... If you played it, you will know what I am talking about without even going into detail. To keep it short, it needs a little bit of work. To me, it seemed that my units were not really responsive or accurately representing their actual strength against the enemy, which made me overconfident and caused me to lose in the game. There is a chance that it is a simple skill issue, sure, but from what I've heard so far, I am not the only one who has issues with the combat system. There is also an issue with archers being practically useless, but this has already been addressed by the developer, so I imagine it will be fixed in a few days at least. A general round of rebalancing would probably fix most of the issues.

All in all, this is great, and is no surprise it is the most whitelisted game on Steam. I will be REALLY surprised if I do not see this voted as the Game of the Year for 2024. Keep the good work up, this is a masterpiece, and I am looking forward to seeing it polished and with future additions and updates.

This is an absolutely brilliant mod. It is probably one of the best mods I have ever played for Half-Life or even Source in general. It definitely deserves a spot high along with Entropy Zero 1 & 2, and similar mods.

The atmosphere, aesthetic, artstyle, and general love and care that was put into this mod, both in the maps, assets, and the gameplay is just astonishing.

There are a few rough edges here and there, but overall I really enjoyed it.
This is definitely one of the mods of all time.

As a cat person myself, I followed this game closely leading up to its release. A friend gifted it to me for Christmas and I jumped straight in.
The visuals, the audio design, the environment and mechanics/puzzles all tie in greatly to deliver an amazing product. I can see myself replying this game many times, though nothing will beat my first play-through.

Highly recommend.

I originally discovered this game through YouTube - it randomly recommended one of the songs to me, I then listened to the entire soundtrack, then I pirated the game, and long story short I'm here.

Phenomenal story, phenomenal graphics, phenomenal soundtrack. 10/10.

It is perhaps true to say that no mistakes are forever etched in stone, for the stone into which The Stanley Parable was carved, has itself been transmuted, offering a message of hope to those who have ever erred in their judgement.

You are not beyond redemption. You may change, and you may become more, so much more than you were before. If there is any message to be taken from The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, it is this.

What a fortune, a privilege, a joy it is to have had such an experience. It leaves me hopeful, that as a community - as a world, there is time for us to become our greatest selves, as great as we ever could dream of in our wildest, most ambitious visions for a brighter future.

As many others have said, if you have played the previous demos of the game, this will feel as a major downgrade.
The game is fun and entertaining, at least for a couple minutes to an hour, but I can't recommend it at its current state. Once more features, namely the ones that were included in the previous free demos, then it'll be worth playing.

I usually can't be arsed to write reviews for games unless I REALLY like them, but now I'm doing it just to spite the people who reviewbomb the game for supporting Ukraine. Слава Україні.

Oh yeah and the game is pretty good. I do wish KSH released more frequent updates for it, though. Overall, can recommend, same with the majority of the DLCs.
