Early Access Review
Literally less than an hour since early access launch and the review bombing has begun. Servers are currently experiencing issues, normal launch stuff. Leaving a positive review, enjoyed my time in the beta. Will change it once things are resolved.

On a 2070 and the game literally doesn't show any video during the intro cutscene, but does show subtitles, and crashes after character creation every single time.

Early Access Review
Got this game as a gift and upon looking into it I didn't have immensely high hopes. Needless to say this game blew those low expectations clear out of the water and into space lol. A game that's as fun as it is simple, I have tons of other new AAA titles to play right now but all I want to play right now is this.

This game is an absolute joy to play and honestly finding anything that feels good to play is pretty rare these days.

I'm a fledgling game developer and I had just gone through taking 3 hours to write a script that should have taken 3 minutes. I was incredibly frustrated and mentally exhausted, then I played a little bit of this game. I feel like, even if just a bit, my soul has been healed and I feel at ease.

When you really get into a good groove with this game it feels amazing to play. When you're really moving with the music everything falls into place. The game's not perfect and missing a beat, and the ensuing missteps, can easily end a run but it still has a lot to offer the rhythm game genre.

As someone who absolutely adores MGS and even Kojima's other projects like Zone of the Enders, I've enjoyed my time with the beta.

The combat for the game is pretty solid and enjoyable, it definitely requires more skill than just mashing an attack button which is nice. There's definitely an element of minding your spacing and reach in the melee combat to make sure you don't get overwhelmed. If you're smart about it you can even take out larger groups of enemies without taking damage. Ranged combat is pretty standard fare, especially if you played MGSV. Bullets are expensive to craft but they feel appropriately powerful, being able to take down larger/special enemies easily if you know their weak spots.

The crafting and progression are all well done from what I've seen so far. Crafting mid-mission is definitely helpful while upgrading and maintaining equipment between missions helps you feel like you're making progress. The class system is definitely an interesting addition, though we only get to play with one of them during this beta. Looking forward to trying out the other options on release.

Crafting and placing defenses certainly helps with the missions if you make sure to prepare beforehand. They made it super easy to place defenses quickly, the system doesn't get in your way when you need to place something down in the middle of a wave.

I'm hoping, in vain, that people can review the game for the game itself and not the drama that went on with Kojima and Konami. The game is fun but it definitely won't be for everyone. Try out the beta and see how you like it, that's what it's here for.
